I’m not sure if this is the right section, but I guess the admins will move it accordingly if it isn’t.

What I wish to propose is for the guys with the most powerful hardware out there to use OBS to record the next war and then share their videos so that we can build a promotional video of “play HLL, PBS style”.

Using OBS is very straightforward and does not require a lot of resources, you might get a tiny FPS drop, but nothing that is going to really affect your game performance, at least in my case.

You’ll definitely need some space on your HD, around 20GB for 1h at 1080p, but nothing unaffordable.

What do you think guys? Is this something that sounds interesting?

i can do this for our squad, been playing around with OBS for a lil bit, can do 1440p 60fps solid no problem, while maintaining 80-100fps on my end (yes i have a UFO)

tbh its not too difficult to understand i just downloaded had a play around with it and figured it out myself 😛 im a novice so ill let a pro explain xD

@Neo using OBS is pretty straightforward, just download and install.

If we have a final agreement on this I will set organize a setup session explaining in detail how to do this ensuring everyone willing to contribute gets everything configured.

To make it brief:

• in the Sources you want to add a Game Capture for HLL (this can be done only after starting the game) with the following settings
  • capture cursor
  • use anti-cheat compatibility
  • capture third-party overlays
  • hook rate: normal
• in the Audio Mixer you want to have two sources
  • desktop
  • your audio input (mine is Microphone/AUX)
• in the overall Settings, you want the following
  • Hotkeys:
    • Start & Stop recording (optional): I use CTRL + ALT + F12
    • Your audio input (mine is Microfone/AUX) push-to-talk: add V,C, X and whatever you have configured on discord (if any)
  • Audio:
    • hotkeys for your audio input (mine is Microfone/AUX) enable push-to-talk with 0 ms (no delay)

P.S. @Sheepzez has developed a software capable of automatically hide the map when it is displayed on screen which you must use in case you want to do any live streaming using OBS or if you also intend to publicly share your recordings via YouTube.

I believe we shouldn’t do this “per squad”, but on a player basis, whoever has the hardware and the willingness to do it, capturing the in-game action along with our communication

Yes, that is the rough idea, aiming at promoting the clan and highlight our core values.

As it is starting to attract some favour I have thought about how this can be turned into reality:

• we set up an upload space, as close as possible to the person who takes charge of the editing process
• each participant uploads his recording along with a timetable of “events to highlight” in the form of “from 3:30 to 4:30 tank destroy”, “from 6:22 to 6:45 kill streak”, etc…
• @Frank, along with anybody else who should be involved, sets up an overall script for the editor and the director to compose the video

We will also have to select the background music, intro and outro, etc.. but that’s too much detail at this stage.

I wish to know if we want to put into this the effort it requires, otherwise I’ll stop bothering you and save my limited brain for the usual tasks Italians do (don’t be offensive lads!)

i really like this idea if we can get everyone getting some clips because i mainly play AT so can comfortably say dont worry there will be burning tanks ;D so yes im in 🙂 i did just make a solo video myself mainly AT stuff in the forums if you want to check it out 🙂 get a feel of what we could produce, think ive got Quarion into getting some AT clips too seeing as thats what we both mainly play

@Frank this requires your sponsorship. People must be informed, we should find a place where we can upload videos and we also should find a director, an editor and put down a rough script.
