What do you do outside of games?

I doubt if you will get many replies.. it’s a gaming site, we are all the same.. Gamer’s and how many true gamer’s do you know are the type to waffle about themselves?

Saying that i play guitar and sing, used to be in bands and have done countless solo acoustic gigs. Still play to this day, not so much the gigging side mainly due to the hassle and other crap that comes with it. Lately got into hiking and photography ( living in Northumberland is great for that ) but that’s somewhat scuppered due to the bloody you know what. Spent this last week learning to play the Ukulele and have just ordered a decent Baritone Ukulele from eBay.. says delivered next Tues.. and it appears i have some free time to work on it 🙂

I started painting Warhammer after ~15 years again and try to convince friends to do the same, haha!
Besides that I play drums. Started a band , sadly right before the Coronathing started, so we have to pause atm.
Until a year ago I organized punk/crust/hardcore-concerts for..phew i dunno like 10 years with a little group of friends but atm I have too much to do besides that.
Also I do screen printing for a living and hobbywise and I´m planning to start a little label with it. Nothing serious but it´s a lot of fun.

I’m a tattoo enthusiast, so I’m heavily tattooed, face, and hands level haha. So I’m either getting tattooed or training to become a tattooist

When I was younger I played rugby sadly to fat & old now & the knees are knackered, now I just like watching it & going to live matches supporting my team Gloucester & having a few beers.
I still like to train 2/3 times a week if I can (weights & spin) as in my head I’m still 20 & not 40 something!!

My mid life crisis got me into WW2 re-enactment / living history about 8 years ago (German Fallschirmjager) which we display at shows all around the country. (Sadly on hold at the moment!!)

Lucky to have a number of deactivated weapons (1943 MG42) 1937 Kar98 live firer (don’t worry I have a section 1 firearms licence) replica MP40, P38, Panzefaust, Panzershrek, blank firing 8cm mortar as well as uniforms, helmets, boots, zeltbahns, etc. (saving up for the FG42 & STG44)

I can’t wait until HLL gets the green devils added into the game (fingers crossed).

Outside gaming I love to spend time with friends, go bowling with them or just hang out. Beside that I love going on long walks with my dog, make music and try to communicate with my lady as much as I can which is not that easy sometimes bc she currently lives in Chicago.

I used to build and airbrush scale model tanks in 1/35 too (Panther G, Panzer IV, Mark I, Tiger II) but I gave up on that due to my clumsiness 😀

I cycle a lot. Offroad and road. I was out for 6 weeks so i am gradual building the form back up. Friday 60km, saturday 72km, yesterday 65km and today with my mtb a proper 50km. I’m also a goalkeeper in football every saturday. Cycling does have the priority. In the past it was the other way around. I am also a season ticket holder of Royal Antwerp Football Club.

a few years back when i wasn’t so occupied with work i was quite the outdoor man, used to do a lot of mountaineering, rock climbing, skiing, mountain biking and paragliding. But all of that now replaced mostly by staring at the screen most of the day 😀

Outside of gaming I have a few interests..I play bass guitar in a band which was going great until the current craziness has put us all in isolation! I can also play the drums and guitar but the bass is my main gig. When i was 17 I got into classic Italian Scooters (Vespa’s, Lambrettas etc..) and I have two, one of which i am restoring atm. Since I was a kid I have been interested in WW2..I have done a fair bit of scale modelling over the years (which i may start to do again) and I have visited many of the battlefields (including some we play on in HLL). There you go, a little about me when I am not going square eyed playing on here! 🙂

I used to play US Football for a few year, airsoft and was a social guy. Then I started working and now I only go out for a beer or two with a few close friends. Also I started playing the guitar in 2013 and started singing about the same time. Love WW2 history and any time I have the chance to get to a WW2 museum I do so.

I got a “medieval combat” school here in my city that teaches fighting with longswords, buckles, daggers etc. and I´m considering to try it out. It´s just so damn expensive.

Yeah it’s basically Medieval/Renaissance era combat 🙂
I mean that video I posted was just sidesword vs dagger but we do all sorts, unarmed, sword+dagger, sword+cloak, longsword, polearms just to name a few!
If you have a local school I really recommend checking it out, most clubs that I know of do a free taster lesson and it’s really worth getting into 🙂

Well we’re going to do a huge tournament with different weapons when lockdown ends so I’ll try and get some videos to show you guys 🙂 I specialise mainly in sabre but I can do enough of other stuff to give you an idea!

I used to be train volleyball for 8 years, had to quit cuz I had no time from work which is kinda sad. Im addicted toward the dangerous spots, like bungee jumps and parachute jumps Im still doing that atleast once a month. Also I like sight seeing and love to take photos of places that stops my breath.

Outside of gaming I work quite a bit but in my free time I like to travel around my region and go to different races. Since I’m in the US, Nascar is pretty popular so I go to tracks around the southeast. Some friends and I also go to the 24 Hours of Daytona IMSA race every year. Haven’t done any Indycar yet though, hoping to do that when they start racing again. Anyone else into racing??

My profession as physiotherapist is my hobby. I read and study a lot and I am also chairman of the Dutch RSI (repetitive strain injury)- association and have lots of contact with scientists, give interviews,etc. Love to walk around in the woods or sit on a bike. Play on my  guitar and blues harp. Used to play games until my radial nerve in my left hand was damaged 5 years ago. My son pushed me this year to pick gaming up again and after some practice I am able to play a bit with my handicap. Use my middlefinger as triggerfinger and triggerfinger to aim……..frustrating….but the same for writing or playing guitar……..I am just trying and see some improvements. It is good to be here in this clan.

Well outside of gaming I spend most of the time working. Normally would be at festivals this time of year doing security but due to virus working at a nightingale hospital. Otherwise I’m out riding my motorcycle. Also run a 2 hr monthly radio show called WE SPEAK TECHNO.  with guest from the underground dance scene. Djing at gigs. Been mixing the Dnb and Techno now for about 27 years now. Also write/program/produce tunes. Like reading books

Besides gaming, I like to cycle pretty often, watch movies, take pictures and for relaxation sometimes play the Didgeridoo. Also like Karaoke (even though I’m a bad singer, but that won’t stop me) and playing pen&paper AD&D.

Still gaming takes up a great deal of my freetime. 🙂

I’am a pretty big nerd. Besides working a system engineer I like to play around with all sorts of tech. I’ve got my own homelab with multiple physical servers which I use to mimic certain enterprise set-ups and tools. Other than that I also like to learn, just finished my bachelors degree in IT Management & Security and currently studying for some Azure certifications. But most importantly I like to spend as much time as possible with my daughter.

hmm outside of Gaming ?   the last 7 months not much bc i worked 6-7 days a week ( not in a hospital,Police or something else) when i have the time i go swimming very often in summer times ( i basically fall out of my door in to the ocean ^^) besides that i enjoy  cycling and getting extremly wasted on partys

Besides gaming (HLL, WOW, COD, RDR2 and many more) I am still a bit of a nerd who has given his genes (nerdiness) to both of his sons (16 and 13 yo). They already asked for a copy of HLL as well. Perhaps one day as soon as their computers are strong enough 🙂

All members of my houshold have a computer and multiple other devices, so a whole famil of nerd, but me being the biggest.

Well, so beside gaming, I am an SAP Consultant (business consultant, no techie) and have been in the consulting world for over 10 year now, but since leaving school always been a data man. Lots of Excel. Besides working and gaming, thank god for Netflix, so always at least one eye on a screen. Love to DIY (bought an old farm house in the middle of focking nowhere), so a lot of time goes into that, mostly because I like buying new powertools :):)

As said, I am glad Netflix exists, so many hours at night spent on the couch with the missus bingewatching.  Ooh, during summer I like to ride my motor (Honda VT1100 C2 ACE), but only with really good weather, since I am a pussy when it comes to riding 😉

As I scrolled through the previous post, perhaps also time for a new hobby…will look into modelbuilding.

Anything else? 2 dogs and 3 cats and a lot of mice since those damn cats are too damn lazy to kill them…..

[edit] – Music, almost all between 40’s and current pop/rock/beat – basically anything with a tune 🙂 most favourite would be 70’s though, also lots of reading (in regards to historical fiction and non fiction, a good crime novell or anything Jack Reacher huge fan of those, also blast from the past the Allistair McLean novels). Also love movies and great food (that would be MEAT), no vegan or anything like that……

Actually gaming is my get-away with stress and it helps me relaxing.

Outside of gaming I make things.  From a wooden table and chairs in oak to scratch building a 6’x4′ foam card blasted city scape for a 40k enthusiast.  I have plans drawn up for building my own house should I ever get enough money to sdo so, including a dedicated woodshop :)  I also enjoy cooking and drinking a lot

Pre-COVID i do tend to go scuba diving and really enjoy it. i love all types of dives but my fav ones are Wrecks of warships both old and new. I also tend to visit museums when i can including IWM in England and many more. Apart from that i mostly game and go to college so dont do too much

Currently undergoing a full restoration underneath, and a full respray. Engine rebuild was completed early on in the year!

The main thing I do outside gaming is ride enduro. I also like to aimlessly walk into the woods and stay there for a few days or sometimes a week.
Other than that I work on the house, split wood, shovel snow, feed the mice living in my walls. There aint much else to do where I live.

Hey, I don’t have many hobbies outside of games. One of them is collecting hockey cards, specifically cards of the team of my heart – Atlanta Thrashers. I became a fan in 1999 when I was 8 years old, because my grandma bought me a Pro Hockey magazine and I loved their jerseys. And I was supporting them all the years in NHL until the team left.

I love visiting concerts and cinema with my girlfriend, watching football or formula one races, etc. 🙂

Becases they dont want you to know, and that a good reason to search your selfs for answers, and i like to research it all..
Did some Beta Testing in FPS games, that was long ago, you learn stuff in there…very interesting…

Besides gaming? I mostly travel but besides that? I paint WW2 model kits. Favourite brand is Tamiya, first started Tamiya two years ago after visiting Bovington Tank Museum. Their shop for model kits was absolutely overwhelming, my partner prevented us leaving that place being bankrupt lol.

I enjoy playing the electric guitar, I’m currently working on a setup where I will no longer need a physical amplifier, everything will run through the pc. Less mess and cheaper too. My goal with that is to eventually start creating my own work. My inspiration are, From the Bogs of Aughiska, Type O Negative and Rush. Very interesting combination I know!

When I don’t fancy any of that I like spending time in the forest, either taking pictures of things or just relaxing.

Just now im in recovery mode to get my helth back. Oh well i live in house in the forest. So im nature man, I have one hunting dog. So i hunt in the fall, love to read history and other estoric thingys. I hate citys and all the noises hahah So i spend alot of the time in the garden or in the forest. And im a writer aswell, i have some plans to start a company with my gf. I do alot more special things. But that is hard to tell what kind of stuff im doing. Feel free ask me anything. Hey, quick infos — From Denmark  — Playing HLL with the best team 😉 — also playing a little violin when the mood strikes, but tbh work is usually taking up between 12-15 hours a day, so what little time i feel like i have off i enjoy spending with wife and just chilling at home 🙂

So nice to read what everyone is up to in life! I myself am from the Netherlands, I teach history and geography. I love reading about history, and of coruse the occasional gaming. Nowadays I play HLL, but I grew up on BF2, BF3 and BF4. So I am really hoping EA wont screw BF6 (a man can hope right..).
