These videos don’t really help much to be honest. I have problems being a sniper.

I’ve played a lot of Rifle Only on Call of Duty 2 in the past, so it’s pretty clear I love going close quarter with my bolt action rifle (without a scope), but I suck at it in Battlefield 1. I try to play passively too, but I PTO too. I die way too much at the objective.

Passively: I use a long range sniper rifle, set tripwire behind me for sneaky enemies, spot and use my flare gun. I don’t care about K/D since I want to clear objectives, but I get sniped a lot from other scouts who I didn’t even see since i’m not really in to sniping vs sniping. I would go on a Sniper Only server on Call of Duty if that’s the case.

Aggressively: I burst in doors with a bolt action rifle (no scope) and try to use my reflexes as my go-to. The objective is the only thing what counts for me and I have catched myself going in the objective as the first of my team multiple times. It’s pretty clear I get p00ned a lot since I need headshots and bodyshots aren’t enough (luckily).

It’s been years since I’ve using bolt action rifles and I really like it in BF1 and I want to play the scout class a bit more, but dying so much and being useless to my team is a bit frustrating sometimes.
