Suggestion to devs

the game should encourage self preservation (surviving longer) more then in its current state

saved loadouts no longer work on spawns you need to get your saved loadouts from arsenals

I hope the developers see this; I’ve played a lot of ArmA since the days of OFP and really like Reforger, I play on Xbox and man it’s so good. For the sake of clarity I have placed my opinion in brackets, and objective facts are after numbered points. “1) [Objective Fact Here]” for example.
Thanks for reading this and have a nice day 😀
1) Removal of the teammate name system so we can’t see teammates names. It ruins the immersion and promotes non-coordination and a lack of communication. It is also counteractive to squad-based gameplay and is the antithesis of a military sim. It is not an acceptable band-aid for friendly fire incidents from a gameplay perspective for a realistic military simulation game.
(For example, I have to pretend the game is glitched when I’m in enemy uniform being questioned by the enemy at gunpoint as to why I have no nametag. Having accomplished so much, and feeling like I’m really behind enemy lines, only to have to lie to someone on voice comms about the game being glitchy and that’s why they can’t see my name. It’s very frustrating and ruins the immersion of what was an incredibly enjoyable and adrenaline-filled escapade, truly showing what the game is capable of. It’s like art when it all comes together, it’s nothing short of a masterpiece that the game can accommodate such an activity. There are times when they’re asking on the radio “Is that a friendly?” but I can’t respond to them since I can’t talk to them on the radio, when I could in the past. It has genuinely made me stop playing for the day more than a few times, and makes me not want to even bother attempting clandestine operations since it’s not accommodated by the game any more when it was in the past. I understand why the decision was made but man, I want to do military things that I’ve done IRL like being in enemy uniform & falsifying comms, and disruption of supplies in a military simulation game. I can’t pick up the enemy I’m driving past in a stolen vehicle to drop them off at a point to collect intel, or be picked up by the enemy on the side of the road while I’m in enemy uniform.)
2a) Reinstation of speaking through enemy radios on enemy frequencies. (I understand why we aren’t allowed to speak in the enemy platoon channel, but speaking in enemy squad frequencies would suffice.)2b) Reinstation of entering enemy vehicles while disguised as the enemy in an enemy uniform. This is a military simulator after all, spying & clandestine operations are factual reality, especially in the cold war. Numerous times I’ve been captured & disarmed by the enemy, but have been unable to be transported since I can’t enter their vehicle. Upon realization, this typically results in summary execution and war crimes aplenty.
3) Allow us to use the enemy faction’s vehicle depot etc just like we can use their arsenal boxes. While wearing an enemy uniform I would like to dismantle their antenna, grab a supply truck, dismantle their heavy vehicle depot, then dump the supplies back in the supply truck for easy transfer to friendly territory. Peak gameplay, it would allow more gameplay opportunities not only for the average players, but for the people who enjoy running supplies.
4) A *MANDATORY* in-game tutorial for the supply system & antennas that’s brief and easy to understand. It is vital for the longevity of the game and the average quality of a match. Players do not understand it. I was going to take it upon myself to write a guide for it, but it would have much less reach than the actual developers creating an in-game tutorial for the largely unexplained in-game feature.
5) A battle-buddy system that would allow veteran players to group with newer players to show them the ropes. (It would encourage teamplay, communication, coordination and raise the lowest common denominator of each team. It could be argued however that such a capacity already exists externally on Xbox via the Looking for Group feature.)
6) Squad-based radio deploys only, so that only people in your squad can deploy on your equipped radio. (I believe the faction-wide radio pack spawns remove the necessity for tactical command truck usage and a team’s coordination between squads. At the moment there is no reason to have squads/groups in the game.)
7) Parachutes
8) Expansion of the teleportation feature. At the moment it is exactly that, you materialize through a black hole randomly appearing in a bush close to an objective. There are no reasonable indicators that an enemy has teleported close to your base. There are no audio cues, there are no visual cues. It is indisputably unreadable and people don’t teleport in real life. Perhaps a plane flying overhead & having the people who teleported spawn mid-air in a parachute or something. Just play a plane noise mp3 or something, ANYTHING but teleportation in the mil-sim game lol.
I’ve played this game a lot since release and have tried to be as objective as possible. The game is so fun to play that I no longer need to use a map to navigate. If any criticism comes off as harsh it’s not what I intended. I am so critical because I enjoy the game and want it to be the best it can be.
