It’s me A Simple Hobbit (the real one), been playing since the server has been up back in the early days of playing for 5 minutes just to crash lol. Anyway, today someone joined with a few different accounts saying “PAY ME 500 OR SERVER GOES DOWN” and spamming it in the server global chat box thing, literally moments ago spamming it. Thankfully someone banned them but then they rejoined with my name (how?). I told everyone it wasn’t me at the same time the guy was spamming, and asked the guy in global chat to stop using my name to type things like that next to it. I’m an xbox player and can’t just make another account (and certainly won’t be) so I’m pretty stuck if I want to play on the server. I’m not playing #2 or #4 servers, #1 is where it’s at and where the OGs play. It was the “POWERBITS GAMETEAM #1” server. I quickly jumped on google trying to find the Discord and spoke to “[PBS] Affe Mit Waffe – Sami” who was in-game at the time and someone I’ve seen on the server frequently for so long it’s unreal. And Old Man Powerbits himself I’ve seen from time to time, and Milky more frequently. Anyway, Waffe said only the admin who banned be can unban me and I have to make a forum account and make a forum post to request to be unbanned.

I’ve ran a reforger aviation training server before so I know how it works. The thing is, why couldn’t you just IP ban the dude and you’d see we have different IP addresses? I have personally IP banned someone before on arma reforger. I understand it’s quite a hectic situation and someone is spamming the N word but come on man I was trying to run supplies. I was typing at the same time as the impersonator and our writing styles are clearly very different, I forgot what I said but I was basically like “wtf”. and I was speaking in platoon chat laughing about how he stole my name somehow lol then “ERROR: Kicked”. I tried to rejoin and it said “ADMIN_BAN”.

Hopefully I’m the first person this has happened to, so you can get the admins to corroborate IP addresses before issuing bans to prevent innocent players getting permbanned because some degenerate is using their name to type nonsense. I highly doubt Joe Schmoe Bloggs has the time to write a forum post and look through a Discord when he’s got work in the morning and the kids need their tea, you know what I mean? Respect that you banned him but unban the real me so I can run supplies and build an antenna at the start of the game please <3 Legend
