I’m at a bit of a crossroads currently with getting a new monitor for the PC setup I have. Here’s three that I’ve nailed down so far:
I run a 2080TI currently, but considering getting another to put into SLI. i9 9900k processor, liquid cooled etc.
But monitors have me really stuck – there doesn’t seem to be really any clear guidance and what’s a gimmick and what’s not?
Could someone help explain it for me? Perhaps which one they would go for and why?
Cheers!

I trust RTINGS (google them) for their monitor reviews – really in-depth and really detailed comparisons. I’d hesitate buying a monitor that didn’t have a good review on there.
I can highly recommend the monitor I recently upgraded to: LG Ultragear 27GL83A-B (although it’s a very different class than what you’re looking at 🙂 )
Important things for me were:
- 27 inch
- 1440p
- 144Hz
- G-sync compatible
- Good review on RTINGS for quality
Only downside is there’s no real HDR (claims support, but really isn’t bright enough).
Recommendation: Check out the monitors you’re looking at on RTINGS.

Cheers Sheep – leaning towards the Asus PG35VQ at the moment based on the comparisons.
X35 is the same panel, but the fan noise is supposedly quite bad.

Those are some sexy screens, the Asus has my preference, but damn that price 🙂
Not sure is SLI is the best option as it is pretty expensive and not all games support it well…

Forgot to mention went ahead and bought the ASUS Rog Swift PG35VQ – sounds like it has all of the bells and whistles! Should be coming tomorrow (Saturday). I’ll post a few pics of how it looks / a review on it.

The setup is complete – all wall mounted! Loving the screen (it’s super bright / clear and 4K is so sharp in HLL).
Just need to find some 4k desktop backgrounds to finish the setup!
