HLL doesn’t really ‘win’ in this video. Do we have any PS players? Whats your thoughts on this?

Well you may not know this but PBS did PS in the team while HLL was in development.
These are my personal points:
- PS is in fact a mod for squad they brought out
- PS looks allot more ugly then HLL
- PS has more vehicles, yet starts rubberbanding like crazy
- PS has half the playerbase at time of this writing and is hell to start servers
- HLL dev are very kind and open
- HLL is a amazing game

Thank, I did not know, Frank.
Yes, I read something about PS being a more low tempo game aswell.
@FlemishLegion: do the dots at the end of your sentence say enough? 😉

I have both games…
HLL has better gameplay
PS has better explosion graphics->they should use the air displacement of hll and combine the graphics of the explosion/cloud/fire of PS
HLL has better gunsound
PS overall textures are a bit sharper to HLL
HLL community is way better
In general i can find myself in that video but my choice goes to HLL.

PS must use a older unreal version as it looks dated, compared to HLL

aye, we tried it but HLL beat it by a landslide imo

I have both games as well, but almost haven’t play PS at all since HLL became playable out of dev internal testings. I can say only that these comparisons are irelevant (especially when the video was made in January 2020). PS is in develompment much farther than HLL and HLL itself is still missing many features which will be present in the end. In video, guy dislikes absense of shift crawling? Movement is clunky? Vaulting obstacles is not good enough? Etc. etc. That all is going to be a thing in HLL, soon there will be overall animation overhaul +shift crawling was mentioned many times that it will come as well. Same as stamina and with that, change of ease of gunplay. SOund in HLL is also subject to change in the future.
What I can already say abut PS, that it is really ugly when it comes to graphics and it will never look better than HLL. PS has only 40vs 40, HLL 50vs50. PS has bigger maps with more freedom, HLL has them a bit smaller (+gamemode funellying the combat just to few areas) which I really hope will change in the future, back to full 2x2km because current maps will be too small for vehicles. Devs said however, that it can be problem because of harder (and maybe not possible) optimization in that case.

I doubt this guy even plays HLL, in video he says that building OP has requirement of teammate to be nearby the SL. That was thing in the beginnings, but not a thing long time now anymore, including the time when the video was made.

Okay, it seems like HLL has a better playing experience then. We picked the right game. Thanks for your replies, guys 🙂

I’ve been thinking about getting PS too. However, from what HLL players have told me, HLL is in the end a better choice.

I think so too and i have rarely seen people playing both at same time.. HLL is the way to go

The main difference for me that grinds my gears is every time you enter a room in PS, hell even Squad is the same way, there is absolutely nothing inside any buildings. Quite frankly the only thing that PS does better, as mentioned above, explosions. The game looks quite dated and bad.
Graphics aside gameplay is near similar.
But at the end of the day, HLL has better support from the DEVs and will eventually outpace in every category.
I haven’t played PS more than 1hr since HLL came out and that was only for PS Utah Beach…. which honestly doesn’t look good or play well in my opinion.

Exactly! Why dont they put furnitures in the buildings? Did the Germans steal it?

I started to play PS before HLL and I struggled with it a lot. Mainly not able to see the enemies due to quality looking poor. Not played it since HLL came out and probably won’t ever return to PS.
This game is just so much more fun to play.

I played HLL first and then tried PS i really couldn’t get on with PS nit sure what it was tbh, I just find HLL a lot more fun and more visually pleasing imo oh and I don’t like the canteen system in PS which turns away a lot of the HLL player base
Graphics – HLL
Sounds – PS
Gameplay – HLL
Comms/teamwork – HLL
Gunplay – HLL
HLL 4 – 2 PS
Imo 😛

I just bought PS and and have had HLL for a while but just was a bit overwhelmed with the large game style. I probably will only play PS for specific occasions. PS has a very weird mix of simulation mechanics and arcade mechanics. Its extremely easy to set up rally points, but theres no other squad mechanic besides that. Logis are their own squad and they carry all the support functions. The community is still pretty small, and given that theres not much team mechanics it usually turns into a boring large map boots on the ground FPS where no one really talks. But its cool that hurdling barb wire hurts you and everyone has the revive perk.

Gameplay in Hell Let Loose is much more streamlined in my opinion.
Hell let loose is closer to battlefield in the shooter gamut, whereas Post Scriptum is more like squad.
Some of the mechanics aren’t massively intuitive, like to build a garrison you need to have a certain amount of people near you or something. It’s been ages since I’ve played.
And the player base in Post Scriptum wasn’t great. You were only going to enjoy yourself if you joined a gaming group, and the one I joined took everything way too seriously, and weren’t particularly fun.
And still lost all their games.
