I’m using some Audio-Technica ATH-AD500X (~£100) with a ModMic Business (~£50) and it is a million miles better than my old Corsair headset, and supposedly one of the “best” current gaming headsets I tried (Corsair Virtuoso).
Would highly recommend getting regular “audiophile” headphones and a separate mic instead of a “gaming” headset. The quality difference was staggering for me.
Edit: My wife uses a Hyper X and it’s decent. My set-up is higher quality in terms of sound quality, positional sound, and mic quality though.

I use HyperX Cloud II Headset as well and I am pretty satisfied with it. Microphone sound quality is good, same as absorbtion of background noise from outside environment.

I´m using a Roccat Khan Aimo. Dunno if it´s the best but it fits for me. Microphone quality is good, sound is nice,
But as Sheepzez said I mostly hear that regular headphones+ separate mic is the best solution…if you got the money for that.

Philips SHP9500 + Zalman Mic 1.
Can recommend.
Surround in headphones is either emulated or never comes close to real surround.
That’s why high priced headphones are always stereo.
The one i mentioned is really good for tracking enemies.
Also use this software:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/equalizerapo/
+
https://sourceforge.net/projects/peace-equalizer-apo-extension/
It lets you download or configure equalizer files to fine tune your headphones to your likings. Most people just download files by people who are trying to make it sound as realistic as possible!

I use a pair of Ath-AD700X. Love em dearly.
Not heavy on the bass but that’s also their main appeal, very good for competetive gaming since the bass will rarely drown out other sounds. -

I use the VOID Pro Wireless from Corsair. Good isolation, good battery, good low tone. best microphone that i had in years. Solid materials. One of my better buys beside my PC-components. Good luck in your quest.
always check information on tweakers.com. You’ll find lots of good comparisations.

Do you use the HS70 in a noisy environment? Can you say if they are good in preventing the environment noise to get into the mic and muffle out everything else?

I use the hs70’s, not in a noisy place but when someone is shouting from across the hall I can’t hear it at all. The earcups have a great seal around the ear so just turn up the volume a little and you’ll be in your own little world lol. just don’t be surprised when you miss phone calls.

i use the razer Kraken and cant complain, its very comfy (after it has adapted to your head). and audio/mic are very good.
the surround in HLL is terrible but i suspect thats the case for most if not all headsets.

I had a HyperX Cloud II and then CoolerMaster MH752, both died.
The first because of extensive use over a couple of years, despite taking care of it well, it got bad quickly, I also recommend getting the Cloud and not Cloud II as everything is the same besides surround sound which you don’t need.
The second because of a defect that makes the right ear stop working on some units. It’s widespread with that headset.I’ll be looking at getting a 50~60€ pair of cans and a modmic next, gaming products are cheap in quality and high in price.

I am use STEELSERIES Arctis 3 2019 Edition . Im glad this headset. Good audio quality and position sounds this helps determine where the enemy.
Micro normal. In discord and games, I can be heard well. This is quite enough.
