Battlefield 1’s first paid downloadable content pack is here for those with the game’s Premium Pass. They Shall Not Pass adds four new maps, the new game mode Frontlines, and a slew of new items, including the new Saint Chamond tank, Siege Howitzer, Char 2C behemoth, Trench Raider elite and more.
In addition to these new items, the developers at DICE also beefed up some of the rewards for all Battlefield 1 players – even those who haven’t purchased the Premium Pass or the They Shall Not Pass DLC.
Developers say even those without the new expansion can still earn service stars with the new weapons by picking up kits from their fallen friends or foes. So if you want to try out the new Chauchat light machine gun or the powerful Sjogren shotgun, look for it on the Battlefield. Every new weapon and each variation has its own service star.
Players can also obtain service stars for the Saint Chamond heavy tank, and even melee weapons like the French nail, and trench fleur.
DICE also increased the level cap in Battlefield 1 from 100 to 110, and added a new “exquisite gold†Brigadier General dogtag for the dedicated few who reach the new max level. This new dog tag is unlockable for all Battlefield 1 players, even if they don’t own Premium or the new DLC.
For those who might be on the fence about purchasing the Premium Pass or They Shall Not Pass, you’re able to explore everything the French expansion has to offer in spectator mode. Developers say anyone can join servers featuring the new maps as a spectator to get a feel for the brutal new DLC.
In addition to two weeks of early access to all of the new content in They Shall Not Pass, Battlefield 1 Premium Pass holders also get two-week early access to the upcoming expansions: In the Name of the Tsar, Turning Tides, and Apocalypse. 14 superior battlepacks, a load of new dogtags, and Premium priority in the server queue, are also included.
