Interestingly, the tank shown in the Battlefield 1 concept art for the upcoming They Shall Not Pass downloadable content (DLC) has a number: 92. This number corresponds with one of the actual production Char 2Cs, nicknamed “Picardie.”
Join me as I delve into the history behind Battlefield 1’s new Char 2C Behemoth and what happened to it.
Development of the Char 2C began near the end of WWI, and the behemoth never saw service with the French during the conflict. Ten were produced in 1921, and entered service in 1923. By 1939, the behemoths were outdated, but put on alert. In 1940, Picardie and the other Char 2Cs suffered an unceremonious demise during the fall of France.
Are you excited to drive Picardie in Battlefield 1’s new French DLC, They Shall Not Pass? Tell me in the comments!
