I think VR gaming might not be a ‘main’ focus area like HLL / RS2 etc but I think it could be a good arm which [PBS] could potentially look into?

I know it only represents quite a small percentage of gaming right now as it stands, but it’s growing at very strong rates. Plus, I don’t know of any other gaming communities / clans that have a ‘VR’ section. There’s lots of Co-op games and military simulators such as Onward, which would be very tactical.

Until VR develops though, the larger scale games like Hell Let Loose / RS2 is probably a few years away, but as things improve, I envisage that VR will continue to become stronger and stronger. VR itself offers a whole new perspective on gaming – as many who plays video games, more and more people are craving that extra content. VR does deliver that as it brings in physical skill (movement of arms / direction) to learn / master.

It brings me to some questions?

      • Wat kind of games exist for VR?
      • Wat mode (coop, single player, large mp?)
      • How much does a good VR headset cost ?
      • Wat are the minimum specs for VR?

      Best regards

I had similar questions as Frank.
Do you have experience with VR gaming, Glovey; other than VR-games with a mobile phone (which I did and is fun, but misses the WOW-factor (unless you use it to watch certain VR-movies that concider a certain age… ;))).

      Got an Oculus rift.

Fine for flightsims and like – only occational vertigo in a fast paced dogfight. FSX, DCS, IL2 and Elite Dangerous.

First person shooters – no go, i get to feel nauseus if i run, jump and turn fast and often.

IMO, VR is still a nerdish experimental way of gaming/simulation.

Wat kind of games exist for VR?

Oculus got a lot of native 3d games and the same applies for HTC vive. Other than that, there is some VR games/applications on Steam.

You can also use a couple of 3rd party programmes, like VORPX, with some degree of succes, on some games,  where VR can be applied (ARMA3)

Wat mode (coop, single player, large mp?) All

How much does a good VR headset cost ? Oculus Quest or HTC VIVE – approx 500,- EUR

Wat are the minimum specs for VR? Resolution: 2160×1200 for HTC VIVE  and 1440 × 1600 and a refresh rate of 72 Hz for Oculus Quest.

It brings me to some questions?

      • There’s quite a few games for VR now, but of course no where near as much as normal PC games. The ones that spring to mind would be Onward, Pavlov – typically it’s 6 vs 6 tactical maps. There’s nothing really at the moment which is like 50 vs 50 in VR. ‘War Dust’ is a bit like Battlefield in VR with large scale maps / 32 vs 32, but the graphics are very out of date and development  has ceased unfortunately.

Wat mode (coop, single player, large mp?)

      • It’s really a mixture. Mainly co-op and single player that dominates VR. I think as the tech improves, there’ll be a developer which will bring a large scale Battlefield type game to VR.

How much does a good VR headset cost ?

      • I got the Occulus Rift S from Facebook market place (an unwanted Christmas present). I bought it for £320 (which is probably around 400 Euro’s?) – Though you can spend thousands – typically most headsets cost from £250 – £500.

Wat are the minimum specs for VR?

      • Ahh I don’t know the answer to this. I have a 2080ti and seems to run a.ok, but I’m not that techy so I wouldn’t know.

      There’s a lot more twitch / e sports now coming out for VR. Here’s a few of the links;

https://www.twitch.tv/onwardmasterleague – Onward is probably the best multiplayer VR game currently I would say.

      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=34r1mDMLcgs – Ironwolf is like Silent Hunter – 4 player co-op.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x4ImOuzXnAc – Echovr is like a sports game (also has combat in it).

Again just a few ideas – I don’t think it’s anywhere close for ‘Clan material’ yet, but hopefully with more advancements / technology / drop in price, it’ll continue to grow steadily over the upcoming years!
