Hey Guys,
I just saw the picture of Frank with “Missing in Action” and then I remembered this movie exists. Now I’m curious about your favorite movie, or even good enough to mention here. Propably there are even some more I’ve never heard of and you propably too!
May it’s good if you give something between 0 to 10 points, with 0 for bad.
I start with one I knew from far away in my past with the Oscar awarded Michael Dudikoff :mrgreen:Â : Platoon Leader
This movie is good for seeing patrols in the jungle and what I like most, some US sandbag fortifications. Points: 4
As far as I remember it’s not so good compared to the good ones, but worth seeing anyway!!

Not really a movie but TOUR OF DUTY was a great TV show (if you can disregard the ’80s hollywood spray ‘n’ pray shooting)

Hey, that sounds interesting, Tour of Duty. And I agree, Apocalypse Now is probably the best!
This one most of you know for sure, and for the other it’s a duty to watch it: 😀
Hamburger Hill. Picture quality looks a little bit wierd, but atmosphere of movie is impressive. By the way, it’s the movie to the map ‘Hill 937’

I need to give 3 movies and series that I love that are themed ‘vietnam’.
Starting as a small boy (maybe from around 6) I watched and re-watched ‘good morning vietnam’ a trillion times.
It might not have the action like platoon, but it was the reality and humor that kept me thrilled. To be honest the tragic part only hit me maybe later in life. Also as a kid I enjoyed ‘Tour of duty’.. I might need to explain I had an older brother (+12 years). So also as a kid this serie was very popular, not to mention the awesome music. My brother had many of the Tour of Duty compilation CD’s.
These examples might also explain why I love 60 and 70 music…
Now for my third choice I might have picked Platoon, a classic nonetheless. But my third choice goes to ‘Tropic Thunder’.
I’m just an ass who likes bad humor alot. And this movie just makes me laugh alot.. and if you look deep inside yourself you will agree.Cheerio!

Hey,
I remember this one: Rescue Dawn with Christian Bale. A little bit different then the others, but very authentic and some good actors in it.
Yeah, Good morning Vietnam is also a good movie! And Tropic thunder is realy crazy stuff, but a funny idea

I would also say Full metal Jacket made in 1987, although I like documentaries best.

Apocalypse Now isn’t really a Vietnam movie, but it’s my favorite. We Were Soldiers is probably the best historically based mainstream release.
