Just a thought.
I’ve unlocked the satchel charge a some time ago after it was introduced. These things are WAY OP.
Fighting in FOY and Carentan I’ve been able to blow up 2 tanks as of yet, both on the same day. And after a little test I can confirm you can actually blow up 3 (!) enemy nodes at once with 1 satchel charge.
What are your views on the satchel, is it OP, is it accurate?

I have it unlocked on the engineer class but not really used it much as yet. I think it’s pretty accurate and to add to what you’ve said – it will take out any structures (Garri, OP, Node) and inf within a 30m radius, irrespective of walls/obstacles so can easily take out all nodes and a garri if they’re placed close enough – may be an argument for spreading out our Nodes when placing.
I’m not sure about it blasting through walls although they may have added that purely because they don’t have the destruction mechanics on buildings where if they did, it would likely destroy the building and everyone in it.
I don’t think this is too OP personally. If tanks are alert they can jump out, kill the placer and disarm the charge as can any infantry and the same goes for charges placed on buildings, etc. Need to have a bit more of a play with it myself though, that’s for sure! 🙂
Also, with the amount of time it takes to take down Nodes no matter what class you are, I think it’s nice to have a way to speed up that process. I think it would be better if certain classes, maybe engineers and support had the ability to take these down faster.

I totaly agree with this part yes, it takes ages to take down nodes. Satchels are nice but it would be better if Engineers and Support roles could be faster at that.

it is not a 1 to kill on heavy or medium tanks.
we have had success to use it on fortified houses. If you get close and place one, that house is cleared after 30 seconds.

I think that the satchel is a great tool, and can’t see that it should be OP..
It’s about 4kg explosive, so yes… It’s gonna say boom.. 🙂

Its great fun tho, yesterday had an amazing flank on enemy garry surrounded by 3 nodes, placed a satchel on the garry and got the hell out of there.It was truly a wonderfull :’)

I would not consider it OP given the amount of risk you need to take if you want to ninja some nodes for example.
Especially now that you can defuse it and it takes more than 1 charge to blow up a medium/heavy tank.
The most OP thing imo is the fact that it kills you even if you’re in a trench / inside a building, but again. risk and reward.

I have used several times to blow up fortifications when the enemy builds walls around a barn so we can gain entry.
The only problem I find is that you give warnings in local chat but noone listens and still go into the blast radious so i get loads of friendly kills..Its a big problem that noone listens and this leads to them getting killed..
