Yesterday at the start of a match in Carentan I picked an antitank role and get on top of a panther. Inside the panther were a three member crew who all of them are PBS members (there is a stream in Sheepez ‘s channel in Twitch 1.55.38 https://www.twitch.tv/videos/705106709 ). So I crossed 2/3 of the map on top of the tank with speed and safety and dismounted when we had the first contact of the enemy. The panther engaged the enemy infantry and i protected its right flank. At least for a while. I soon get killed and the panther took damage from enemy antitank. Although it was a failure a new concept is introduced to the game. As a reserse officer in hellenic army ( mechanized infantry ) I can tell that modern warfare depends on mobility , aggression and combined forces. The developers are working at the moment on armored personal carriers and our clan should adapt new tactics at the battlefield. I take advantage of this time and i propose to the clan that in the next trainings we should asign a squad to act as mechanized inf sqd on the top of the tanks so they can rush the middle point , place outpost and fight alongside with the tank ( or tanks). This is a way to capture vital position at the very start of the game prevending the enemy advance.

Cool idea. We could make use of the grayhound and puma with an engie and supply to maybe place nodes deep. Or ferry antitank and support armor like the example above, plus puma could provided extra firepower agiasnt shermans.

Very good idea. Kind of how the blitzkrieg went combined arms of verchiles and troops. Using verchiles to advance troops and breake the enemy lines

Actually, we might even consider assigning small Squad (maybe 2 or 3 people) to permanent Tank protection duty. ie Moving with the tank and nonstop priority defense of tanks rear, sides and repair.
We might partly source the people for this Squad from Defense Squads as the Armor Squad is usually at defensive locations anyway.

I really like this idea too, a kind of mutialistic relationship in which the squad has permanent cover as well as permanent suppression and fire support, and the tank has a squad to repair it and clear out anti-tank threats. Although it is a large commitment of resources if we are gluing an entire squad to a tank. I guess we would need assurance that the tradeoff is worth it, and I am not sure comitting a squad to the service of a tank works as well on defence as it would being used to break enemy lines and harass the back, if the tank is protected from enemy AT and repaired by the squad it effectively becomes a moving fortress meaning it can accomplish a lot more behind enemy lines than on point defence right? Just snowballing ideas.
