I am fresh here, so I’m wondering if we use the in-game communication (voip) in HLL or Discord to talk to each other?

Maybe both? (sounds a bit much…)

Primary we use of course VOIP. Peeps are also in Discord to be able to co-op better between several squads for example. Also if a Squad plays hybrid they still can communicate as 1 squad. On the other hand it is handy for an Admin if issues are called out to get intel from players while on a server mentioned. So it is defo no overkill to use both.

      Hi skallagrimsson,

      We use both.
While in a game, we mostly use in game VoIP.
Always join discord before joining the game, as you can join existing squads who are already in a game.

They will tell you which server to join.

In my experience, VOIP is used to community in-game and Discord is mainly muted during the match. But for socializing and getting to know the community Discord is absolutely the way to go.

Thanks for the replies, m8s – as I understand the two channels have different use, for the most part. I’ll get the phone app for Discord and use in-game voip for tactics as the main rule.

really depends on the people. Some mostly use discord, some only use in game and have discord muted, some use both at the same time.

I will use both but sometimes get confused with the 3 or 4 different buttons i have to press to talk to command, squad, local chat or discord. Each has advantages and disadvantages. Biggest thing why a lot of people will use discord is you can change other peoples volumes which is really needed with some very loud people.

it is possible to use discord on your pc and set up a push to mute bind for the x/c/v keys so if you talk in game voip it momentarily mutes your discord, preventing annoying echoes and louder or quieter over lays., in disocrd open settings/key binds and then just add new, do it each time for v/ c/ x and your set
