which graphics card is better gtx 970 or R390
Help me to make a choose

It seems the AMD card is pretty strong, but i am a NVIDIA fan , so i  would go for the Nvidia gtx970 , but here is a nice vid:

After looking a little further, all be it from many a hater post.  It seems from what I can see the 390 is basically on par with the 970 at stock on 1080p resolution, and pulls a little away on higher resolutions e.g.1440.  Although it seems when overclocked at 1080p the 970 has better performance. So if 1080p gaming I would go with the 970, and if higher resolution gaming I would go with the 390.  I have an MSI 970 and play BF4 on 1080p with 200% resolution with some settings on ultra (texture, mesh, terrain quality – rest low/off). The best thing about the 970 is you can acheive 1500 core clock (+250) without increasing the voltage.

Another thing to consider is that the 390 will be a little more future proof with the 8gb of ram.  On the down side it draws more power without an overclock, and seems to run warmer than the 970.  So have you got the power supply to feed it (650-700w+ PSU to be safe for an overclock) and the case to cool it?

If not, then the 970 (550W+ PSU) will be your friend

If you already have the PSU and are 1440+ resolution gaming then I would go with the 390.

Just make sure you also have the CPU to run it,

Do you have an aftermarket cpu cooler?  If so use the msi auto overclock button.  Also ram will run at 1600 even if sold at 2133 etc. You need to overclock to get them there. If you have change get another stick, you’re probably aware of that though.

I’am playing with the gtx970 gaming 4gb,  all in automatic mode, no clocking at all, runs very smooth, max 70degrees with automatic fanspeed,  bf4 in ultra settings and an fps of 90 to 115.

Jode try increasing the resolution scaling, it’s the best eye candy but most demanding.  For me it’s worth turning up for the reduction of others.
