Increasing the DPI can cause errors beacue…. Well I’ll let Linus explain in this video.  Basically higher DPI is split on each increment, thus errors can occur when aiming.  So a lower DPI and higher game sensitivity might help your aim.

I use 1600 dpi, seem about right.  I have my sensitivity set so my 360º turning circle in any FPS game (from hip fire, not ADS) is 3.5 inches mouse movement.

When I was younger and played a lot of CS:S I used much higher sensitivities but didn’t play much FPS for a few years and lost my “muscle memory”.  Now I am settled on something else which feels comfortable 🙂

1600 is probably your native DPI for a decent mouse such as a deathadder.  Lowering it by half to 800 should provide better tracking with less chance of errors.  Then increase the in game sensitivity to get it back to your natural speed.   This is what I’m taking from some posts I looked at.   I beleive competative CS GO players use like 400DPI.  There’s probably no difference if using your mouses natural DPI.  Just don’t go I’ve 6400DPI and use like 4000, and lower in game sensitivity to 3%.

On a side note, ensure you have pointer speed in the middle in Windows and enhanced pointer precission unticked.  If you have software with your mouse, select a 1000 polling rate as it’s like the detection speed.
