From what I can tell it’s like a GOTY/Special version of the game, that includes the base game + premium pass + a bunch of other goodies for about half the price of the Ultimate Edition. Pretty decent price & the price the entire game should have been from the start anyway.

The RRP is €60 on the Origin store or €53.99 if you are subscribed to Origin Access. It has replaced the Deluxe & Ultimate editions in the store. They no longer seem to be available to purchase.

Fair bit aye for us low income plebs, but for AAA it’s a good price seeing as it includes all DLC plus exclusive weapons for deluxe/ultimate editions + crates. Ultimate edition was over €100 & base game + premium pass was around €100 if bought separately.

it’s cheaper than when i bought it. Then it was 110€ and now only 60€. It’s expensive compared to rs2 etc. but cheap for that quality

I don’t think you can really compare RS2 to Battlefield. RS2 dev team is basically an indie dev in comparison to EA/Dice – then again so are most other studios, except the other few massive notable studios out there, like Ubisoft that have employees & studios spread out across the globe. All AAA studios will continue to churn out overpriced games because they can & because they are a recognized brand, people will pay those prices regardless of how good or bad the product they are buying ends up being.

      Still very expensive IMO.

Does the DLC have many players?

    • #15148

No the playerbase in bf1 in split because of dlc.

Its true you cant compare it, but RS2 has a much closer community…and all maps are free + custom maps.

We now have 27 maps already

Dice seems to go for the money

Fair few yes. Probably more now as premium pass was recently on sale for about half price. Also BF1 base game was added to the Origin Access & EA Access (ps4) vaults, so overall there should be an increase in players. A new DLC map from the upcoming In the Name of the Tsar DLC came out yesterday & the full DLC I just mentioned should be out in a couple of weeks or so (there’s no specific release date), but that will also (probably) increase the amount of active players. There’s also been premium friends & premium trials active for a while so non-premium/ultimate edition owners could check out the already released DLC.

Yeah, it’s still pricey, but you can always wait until the next sale comes around (I think there will likely be a winter or maybe even a fall sale), so might be better off waiting until that & seeing if it gets a 30-50% discount from the current price. Alternatively check around third party stores as you can sometimes find good deals on those.

@Frank: isn’t COD similar. Don’t they have DLC only maps too?

Only thing I do know is that EA want to move away from the DLC & start providing all DLC content – except maybe cosmetic/boost stuff with the base game of future games that come out. BF1 already started with DLC system in place & it’s kind of hard for them to just scrap that off I think as it would likely piss of all the customers who paid for the overpriced ultimate edition or premium pass & deluxe edition upgrade. I think what they have done is a nice compromise as the base game is now cheaper & the version which includes all DLC is now the price the base game was. Yeah, not as nice as Tripwire & the community created mods/map content, but it’s a step in the right direction AAA-wise & that’s what counts more.

Only thing I do know for sure is that the active pc player amount for RS2 & BF1 is pretty shit. Currently less than 2k for RS2 & about 22k for BF1, whereas BF1 (x1) has around 40k & BF1 (ps4) has around 65k. I wonder if the player amount will dwindle for PUBG once XBOX ONE version is released sometime later this year or next..
