A change to the way custom servers are deployed in Battlefield 1 is getting everyone talking…. Talk about it here[Please see the full post at this link: THE CUSTOM SERVER PROBLEM]

Some info leaked from a server provider on this link
GPortal, (our Oaks server provider), has just informed us that they won’t be providing any BF1 servers. In fact NO providers will be selling/renting BF1 servers in the traditional way they do now.
Instead MS Azure, Amazone, AWS and i3d will provide server resources to DICE for selling on to communities directly; there will be limited access to server settings adjustments and NO procon (and I guess any alternative) option. So basically identical to the console model they deployed for BF4.
Basicly
What does this mean? – Set server preferences by EA DICE
- Player caps for certain modes
- Ticket/Time caps for certain modes
- No RCON tools
- No RCON restrictions like restricting explosives etc on certain maps
-No plugin for map vote or kicking
- Basically for Console nothing has changed
- For PC we are now basically consoles in terms of server management.
Now this is not official, and we hope this is not the case
-

If this is the case i might not buy the game
-

Lets see wat they do…

Yeah i dont understand it, probably the same idiots who made official mode in BF4…
Is this a step closer to consoles?

12/09/2016 at 22:23 #10011
So we can get servers but we’ll be forced to eat hacker shit since we can’t ban. Also, bye bye mixed gaming modes…
-
12/09/2016 at 23:45 #10014
its not Dice, bu EA decided as always.
-
12/09/2016 at 23:53 #10016
I would say we can maybe kick, ban but no more mixed mode…unless i can set this in the server config.
The player cap sucks bigtime…so i guess allot of days we do CQ…?
Lets hope this is not the case…

i found this
Battlefield 4 Rules of Conduct Players are expected to abide by the EA Online Terms of Service (“TOSâ€) while playing on Battlefield 4 Servers. You agreed to the TOS when you established your EA Origin Account.
The purpose of these Rules of Conduct is to illustrate how the TOS apply when you play on Battlefield 4 Servers. Multiple or critical violations (to be determined at EA’s own discretion) of the TOS may result in the loss of online play or a stats and/or awards reset. TOS violation may also result in the termination of your Origin Account and the loss of anything associated with it (including but not limited to points, tokens or in-game items).  There are four server types in Battlefield 4, together “Battlefield 4 Serversâ€:
“Official Servers†only allow access to a few server settings which are very restricted. Server admins cannot kick or switch players around. Missions can only be tracked here. Awards, scores and unlocks will also be recorded. Players land on these types of servers when using Quick Match.
“Ranked Servers†are servers that allow mixed game modes and are more flexible with setting ranges. Server admins are allowed to kick and switch players around as well as change ticket totals. Ranked Servers record awards, scores and unlocks. Players will be unable to Quick Match into Ranked Servers, but they can find them via the Server Browser.
“Unranked Servers†do not track awards, scores and unlocks to be applied towards players’ career progressions. This allows for a much wider range of settings to adjust giving players the chance to have freedom on the server. These servers will only be visible via the Server Browser.
â€Private Servers†can apply the same rules as unranked but passwords can be set. These servers are used for team warm-ups, training grounds, team wars etc. These servers only show up in the Server Browser.
The following are some examples of conduct not permitted by the TOS, they are not a complete list of prohibited behaviors and you should refer to the TOS for further details:- You are not permitted to use offensive soldier names or tags.
- You must not actively encourage other players to violate the TOS.
- You must not organize any platoons or groups that are based on, or espouse, any racist, sexist, anti-religious, anti-ethnic, anti-gay, or other hate-mongering philosophy.
- You must not attempt to interfere with, hack into, or decipher any data streams or transmissions to or from EA services, or use any application or software while using the Battlefield 4 services which are not approved by EA.
- You must not exploit any bug or abuse any game system (such as the scoring or award systems) in an EA product or service including but not limited to:
- Intentionally using or sharing any bug found within any Battlefield 4 games, real or fictitious, regardless of whether or not it grants an unfair advantage.
- Directly or indirectly communicating the existence of any such bug to any other user of EA’s games or services.
- Examples of abuse in Official Servers and Ranked Servers in violation of the TOS include, but are not limited to:
- Taking turns killing, reviving, receiving ammo etc.
- Abusing world geometry to your advantage without risk
- Exploiting vehicle damage to repair indefinitely
- Creating a play environment which, by definition or action, creates an inflated scoring scenario such as ‘flagrun’
<u>Server Administrators</u>:
If you are an administrator of a Battlefield 4 Server (referred to below as a “Server Administrator”), you must also comply with the TOS.
Please note that Server Administrators should not ban players for conduct that is not in breach of the TOS, for example, just because they are winning the round, have killed you, etc. The player being banned must be in violation of the TOS (which may include violation of the particular server’s rules, provided these rules are in accordance with the TOS).
For the avoidance of doubt, Server Administrators will also violate the TOS if they (i) use offensive server names, server art or tags; or (ii) encourage other players to violate the TOS while in game.
PunkBuster and FairFight are mandatory for all Official Servers and Ranked Servers.  <u>Exploit/Abuse Reports</u>:- For more information and help, please see:
- Please utilize the Report feature on Battlelog to report a player, profile, platoon etc. for violating the TOS.
- Find the offending player/profile/platoon. To the right of the name you will see a grey exclamation point. Click this exclamation point and select the appropriate action (Report Possible Cheat / Report Profile).
- You can also report unapproved software or applications which provide an unfair advantage or manipulate the game in a way it was not meant, to the PunkBuster staff at:Â [email protected]
- To report a Battlelog avatar for violating the TOS, please right click the offending avatar and select Copy Image URL/Link.
- Go to http://en.gravatar.com/site/abuse/ and insert the avatar link in the “Offending URL” section.
In all cases, please provide as much information as possible when making reports. EA’s support staff will be the final decision makers regarding investigations. Intentional submissions of misinformation or false abuse reports can be considered a violation of the TOS.

we had the same experience with COD and we had to find another fanchise…… Titan Fall and Battlefront were on the same idea and those games worked just a few months….
We have to wait, but we have to find a way in a game where we can play without waiting one hour in queue to play together. -
15/09/2016 at 09:36 #10114
The basic things we need:
- Vip slot
- Kick , ban , move (via console command or rcon tool from ea)
Other nice things wich Would be nice
- Punkbuster, pbbans , metabans
- Balance plugin
- Spambot
- Language
- Interactive plugin like proconrulz
- Etc…
If we have the first, it makes sence renting a server and expanding the clan.
Fingers crossed

Im still waiting for further information on this subject. Im not preordering until i know more. Like Frank said this happend to Battlefront and Titanfall, and those games are dead as we speak. I mean i still need to get more DLC from battlefront and i havent played that for months now.
God i hope EA comes to their senses. Question, wat wil PBS do when BF1 becomes a failure? Will we play other games, will we stay in BF4?
-
16/09/2016 at 14:30 #10161
there are some rumours , admins would get control , but not via procon…
If BF1 is a failure because they do not let us administer the server, the team will prob check for another game..we did this in cod when they took away the servers…
But i am positive and hopefull that BF1 must be a hit!

Asked my provider some information as they are one of the companies that provide EA servers… They say:
We are not allowed to release any info, until EA does…

Looks like I will definetly NOT preorder this game. I am so fed-up with playing on restrictive servers, only because some game-company wants maximum control and maximum profit as described in this video. Its a shame though: BF1 looked good, but I guess that’s why it got overhyped on purpose by EA, only to get the players to swallow the “bitter pill”…

The biggest question, of course. We will update this thread tomorrow with some of the features you will have in the RSP.
Note: One of the top requested features if the Kick/Ban feature. We hear you and are working on rolling that out after the launch of the RSP.Thank you for your continued patience and stay tuned for more information regarding the Battlefield 1 Rental Server Program.

Kick/Ban doesn’t come with the release? Lolwhut. I’m not renting anything as long this isn’t added.
Why would I give money to a server I can’t manage? BG, EA. Please don’t fuck this up. 🙁

Yeah this month, now if the player cap is not adjustable, for example putting rush on 64 peeps, we cant do a mixed mode with conquest…
But as the servers are cheap…maybe we can do a rush, domination, war pigeon mix on one server and a conquest /operations on another…µ

UPDATE 3:
Will there be RCON or PROCON tools?
- We are commited to developing in-game support for the most popular plugins used with previous Battlefield titles to ensure that admins have similar levels of customization. However, the new RSP servers will not support 3rd party tools like RCON or ProCON. Please stay tuned to the Battlefield channels for more updates.
Why are the prices different for PC and console?
- PC servers will be running at 60Hz, with console servers running at 30Hz. Pricing has been adjusted accordingly. Please stay tuned to the Battlefield channels for more updates.
Are the prices for servers affected by slot-size?
- Server rental prices are not set by slot-size, but the slot-size will vary depending on the mode chosen in the rotation. Please stay tuned to the Battlefield channels for more updates.
More details to come.
