I’m one of those old Arma Universum Vets, born in 1963. Yesterday I violated the seeding role as a candidate and prepared one of our servers as a lesson from the last few days since Reforger became 1.0. The result was a battle lasting almost 18 hours in the Everon conflict. I had looked at the frustrated gaming experience of the last few days and thought I should try something. So I almost single-handedly killed most of the AI and formed large bases from the US side, which could easily be taken over by the Ruskis at the start of the game. My focus was on the gaming experience for especially new players, but also currently frustrated vets. The start with team kills and fights within your own team for resource management was always particularly bad. I wanted to change that. New players should be sucked into a world of combat more quickly. You should feel the funk of clashing voices, the constant sound of helicopters and distant weaponry. Most quick rounds in Reforger end at around 1.5 hours, by which time the opposing team has overrun the opponent. A longer match hardly lasts longer than 5 hours. This also has something to do with the fluctuation on the servers. The normal gamer is not used to fighting in an FPS shooter for such a long time with concentration and also doing resource management. Especially for console players, who make up the majority of Reforger most of the time, this needs to be prepared. Ok, out of the 18 hours, about 6 hours were preparation time. But the result was overwhelming. Now, of course, the discussion begins as to whether that is the point of this game mode. I say fuck you. I wanted to have fun and prove what’s in the engine and what Reforger already represents. 100 players stable for over 12 hours, of course with the known loss of performance. But that didn’t bother the fighters much. It was an unmodded server from the PBS team. What is your opinion about my trick? By the way Reforger Servers are stable now. Thx for our Server. Diskussion is open.
