<p class=”s14dydj4-10 kiAEUp”>I won’t lie, this bug sucks – I personally have spent about 4-5 hours with ubisoft support chat and wandering around the web over the past 2 days. If you are struggling with fps or stuttering issues, it is probably related to CPU 100. Please use the guidelines below to establish if your problem is related to CPU 100.

      <p class=”s14dydj4-10 kiAEUp”><strong class=”s14dydj4-14 gBjHJP”>CPU 100 TESTING GUIDELINES

<p class=”s14dydj4-10 kiAEUp”>To test to see if your issue is related to CPU 100, please try the following steps: 2. Open Task Manager (ctrl+alt+del), and navigate to the PERFORMANCE tab, not the Processes tab it defaults to. 2. Launch the Division 2, and make sure to make it outside of the indoor environment you spawn into. Run around outside (where enemies can spawn) for at least a full minute. 3. Use alt+tab to look at Task Manager. Does your CPU graph have a flat line at the very top (100%), or close to it, that falls to normal levels once you have alt-tabbed away from the game? It should look like this (though obviously, you may have a different processor than me): https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/410264630967926795/557676972394676225/CPU_100_2.PNG

<p class=”s14dydj4-10 kiAEUp”>If the answer is yes, your issue is likely related to CPU 100! Read on to find out how to get the issue resolved.

<p class=”s14dydj4-10 kiAEUp”>If your issue is related to CPU 100, as established by the prior test, please go to the comments and post your system specs in the comments, using the following Layout:

      <p class=”s14dydj4-10 kiAEUp”>GPU: CPU: RAM: OS:

<p class=”s14dydj4-10 kiAEUp”>Once you have done this, continue on to the Resources section for possible workarounds, and remember to EDIT your comment with the results of trying them, if you decide to do so!

      <p class=”s14dydj4-10 kiAEUp”><strong class=”s14dydj4-14 gBjHJP”>Resources

<p class=”s14dydj4-10 kiAEUp”>I have spent a while compiling a list of workarounds, and some of my own knowledge on the issue. Please try these workarounds at your own risk, as they are not mine, and I do not endorse them, just compile them for ease of access. If you do decide to try them, please EDIT your comment containing your system specs and add “EDIT: I tried <whichever workarounds you tried> and got <whatever result you got>.”

<p class=”s14dydj4-10 kiAEUp”>Please feel free to leave another comment with the first line as WORKAROUND if you have a workaround that you think I should add to the list. If you have any feedback or knowledge on the issue, please feel free to comment that in a separate comment as well with the first line as FEEDBACK.

<p class=”s14dydj4-10 kiAEUp”>IMPORTANT NOTE: DX12 SEEMS TO BE SLIGHTLY BETTER THAN DX11 FOR USERS AFFECTED WITH THE ISSUE, BUT THIS IS NOT CONSTANT. The issue seems to be <strong class=”s14dydj4-14 gBjHJP”>slightly better on lower graphics settings, but overall not a huge boost from lowering them. Also, the issue seems to be less bad indoors/in spawn points.

<p class=”s14dydj4-10 kiAEUp”>BEFORE STARTING, MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE LATEST DRIVERS FOR YOUR GRAPHICS CARD.

<p class=”s14dydj4-10 kiAEUp”>WORKAROUND 1: Go to the details tab of task manager, and go to the details tab. Right click on the division 2, and set priority to highest.

<p class=”s14dydj4-10 kiAEUp”>NOTE: EasyAntiCheat seems to block this for most users.

<p class=”s14dydj4-10 kiAEUp”>WORKAROUND 2: In the Graphics settings in the division 2, lower your Volumetric Fog, Shadow Quality, Sharpening, Resolution Scale, and Extra Streaming Distance.

<p class=”s14dydj4-10 kiAEUp”>NOTE: This doesn’t seem to work incredibly well, and also probably mostly relies on the fact that the issue is somewhat better with lower graphics settings

<p class=”s14dydj4-10 kiAEUp”>WORKAROUND 3: NVIDIA ONLY. Open NVidia Control Panel, and go to Manage 3D Settings, and select Program Settings. Look for the Division 2 in the programs list, if it does not appear, you may have to add it.

<p class=”s14dydj4-10 kiAEUp”>Set Max Pre-rendered frames to 1 Set Monitor Technology to G-Sync if your monitor has it Enable Threaded Optimization Set Power Management to Highest Performance Set Multi-Display/Mixed GPU Acceleration to Single Display Performance mode

<p class=”s14dydj4-10 kiAEUp”>WORKAROUND 4: Go to Video in the settings inside the game, change your resolution away from whatever it is (anything will do), and apply it. When the box comes up asking if you want to keep it, do not keep them to go back to your old settings.

<p class=”s14dydj4-10 kiAEUp”>Note: this one seems silly to me and didn’t work for me, but a couple people are swearing by it.

<p class=”s14dydj4-10 kiAEUp”>WORKAROUND 5: <strong class=”s14dydj4-14 gBjHJP”>CAUTION THIS REQUIRES MESSING WITH THE REGISTRY. DO SO AT YOUR OWN RISK. UBISOFT OFFICIALLY DOES NOT RECOMMEND MESSING WITH YOUR REGISTRY.

<p class=”s14dydj4-10 kiAEUp”>https://forums.ubi.com/showthread.php/2013590-Fix-for-mouse-stutter-Problem-caused-by-High-CPU-Usage Open Notepad Paste in… Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options\TheDivision2.exe\PerfOptions] “CpuPriorityClass”=dword:00000001 Save the file as <anything>.txt. Rename the file, change the extension to .reg. Run the .reg file

<p class=”s14dydj4-10 kiAEUp”>WORKAROUND 6: Increasing the size of the swap (pagefile).

      <p class=”s14dydj4-10 kiAEUp”>Here a link to modify the swap size : https://windowsreport.com/pagefile-sys-file-windows-10/

<p class=”s14dydj4-10 kiAEUp”>EDIT: Someone has this issue with his i9-9900k brand new, if you’re convinced it’s all old processors/high settings, while someone with a Ryzen 1600 is doing fine. I have completely lost faith the devteam cares. Not a single response on the forum crosspost.

      Thanks for doing this Simon.

Just a general warning for people. I would only recommend changing your REGISTRY if you’re comfortable with doing so and know how to revert the changes when required.

If you’re unsure about using REGISTRY EDITOR, don’t.

I tried this fix as I was suffering from intermittent stuttering issues. This fix didn’t help in my case. It may be useful for others after exhausting all other possibilities such as CAPPING FRAME-RATE or LOWER GRAPHIC SETTINGS.

      Thanks again Simon.

PS. You may want to edit your post to remove any errors with the formatting.
