In this post I would like to appeal a ban given to my friend Antero and myself (Firefly), who have been part of this clan since summer 2022.

 

To start it off I would like to mention that I am writing this post with the assumption that it will be taken seriously, because if this is not the case then I might as well just not write anything at all. The reason I am mentioning this is because the communication I had with the responsible admin did not feel like it was taken serious at all. Assumptions were made, accusations were thrown, and any of my replies given were not listened to. Our side of the story was never asked and never taken into consideration. I hope this case can be reviewed in an objective manner.

 

So what actually happened?

Part 1: In game incident

It all started In-game when some guys claimed that a heavy tank was theirs. My friend and I were already chilling top HQ for it way before them, when suddenly they spawned in just a moment before we got 600 fuel. Apparently they claimed that they already asked for it. I quote: “It is our tank, we asked it first”. So if the game starts and I ask commander for heavy tank 5 minutes in the future does that mean the heavy tank is mine? The matter of the fact is that we are already waiting top HQ for a while which is a clear sign, and these dudes have the audacity to spawn right next to us and claim it as their own? In my opinion that’s not how it works. Anyways, in this scenario, in my opinion, we have at the very least just as much right to this tank as them, which turns this into a battle of who gets into the tank first, fair and square.

It seems they did not think of it this way because when my friend tried to get into the tank, they promptly teamkilled us. To my understanding, this is a blatant bannable offence, which is why I reported this player and why he got banned shortly after. Part 2: Reason for us getting banned

What I assume happened after is that these guys (who apparently are from a friendly clan?) started complaining to the admin claiming the tank was clearly theirs and that we were in the wrong. It seems that the admin decided to pick their side because he later told me that we: “Demonstrated misconduct on our server causing the wrong person punished” and that “With your conduct to report a player of a friendly clan despite the fact you both were wrong here you did PBS a bad service”.

There are two things wrong with this:

1: As described above, I do not believe that we are not at fault in this incident. We got blatantly teamkilled, and we reported them for it. That’s it.

2: Just because you ban someone and regret it afterwards, doesn’t mean that it’s our fault. We didn’t “punish the wrong person” and we didn’t “do PBS a bad service” here. We simply submitted a report of someone intentionally teamkilling us. On top of that, not a single question asking for details about the incident was asked (I can share chat log to prove it if you’d like).

 

Another notable reason mentioned of why we were banned is because I “blatantly lied” about taking a break from the game which was my explanation to why we did not have our PBS tags on at the time. This is not true, I never lied about this. The matter of the fact is that we played this game very actively until somewhere around October 2022 after which we took a few months long break from the game due to real life commitments. It is only since recently (couple of weeks, maybe a month by the time you read this) that we decided to start playing again, but to a much lesser extent as before. It is at this moment where we were considering whether we will be able to properly “rejoin” the clan out of our winter slumber (this includes both being more active in clan events and putting back the clan tags which we removed during our break). I’d kindly ask you to take another look at the logs to confirm that I in fact did not lie.

 

Lastly I was accused of the fact that I “constantly dodged the questions”. While the communication from both of us was not ideal, and I might have misinterpreted some of the question asked, I did my best to answer all questions truthfully. Once again I would like to mention that no questions about the incident itself were asked.

 

In conclusion, I hope that after hearing our side of the story our bans can be removed and our roles returned to what they were before.
