Explanation to what happened: We ask for a medium tank after losing the first light we started with: Declined. (Meanwhile there’s a medium solo tanker on mid HQ waiting for his team, they arrive 25 whole minutes later) We take the recon until we die, then ask for another medium since the heavy was just given out (600 fuel left on hold at that time): Declined. Then some guys start getting aggresive with my SL for even asking twice, guess they got mad (Especially a guy that also typed on discord he was supposedly trying to calm us down but there was nothing but a bit of private frustration between only me and my SL until he responded aggresively). We get defensive, people start calling us children and shit, cussing us out. We are still not getting our tank, eventually we finally get a heavy and move on for now…Tensions drop a little…I had also called an admin but what he told me is to stop “harassing” the commander. The whole argument for us not getting medium tanks is that it’s a waste of fuel and we should get heavy tanks. Then I see commander spawn a 75 heavy for the same guys sitting there for half an hour occupying a tank, no talk about them at all, no frustration no nothing but the whole server is out to get us, because we complained. I make fun of that in chat saying “No mediums because we waste fuel, meanwhile commander: Spawns 75 Heavy” something like this…the response I get? A ban for a day with the threat it’s going to be permanent next time????? I’m sorry what? I’m trying to play the game here meanwhile no logic checks out and I’m the one “harassing” people because of a joke? Harassment is being treated like this for over 45 minutes! I also joined discord, mods were aggresive and not helpful, also banned me from there or something after saying “Discussion over” without clarifying my questions properly. Commander also calls for the admin out of the blue at one point not for me but my SL who said nothing for like over 10 minutes, the screenshot I saw being forwarded in discord too, Idk what due diligence the mods did but they gave zero explanations were very aggresive and it seems to me like they just obeyed peoples’ mob behavior against us. Also this whole thing that people can get us banned throught discord but I’ve got to do all this just to appeal is crazy to me no respect for people’s time….Idk what to say. Hope you treat your players better than me.

Hello, Pot Dylan. You have been reported for VOIP abuse consisting of constantly demanding a tank despite the lack of resources. As this claim was whithout a proof, I checked the chat logs and also got into the game to listen to the command chat for a while. In the chat, I noticed this conversation:

At this point, I warned you for your behavior as based on the chat I came to conclusion that you are being agressive and cause the conflict. Despite my warning, another conversation occured.

In my eyes, your behavior was offensive, harrassing the commander by mocking his decisions and insulting others. Combined with reactions of others, that partially confirm what couldnt be proved from VOIP, I decided to punish you. I issued a 1D BAN that is way below standard for such behavior.

 

You then came to our Discord, asked where to complain. I provided you with a link, that you ignored and started chatting in a room that is not made for chat. Higher admin provided you said link again, you again continued to ignore him and raged. You were then banned from the server by my colleague.

 

From your appeal, I do not believe that you admit doing anything wrong, so I do not have a reason to change my decision.

 

As for your complain about my or my superiors actions, I will let the topic open for other admins to react.

I do not see what the second conversation’s problem is? Do you see Am damned constantly provoking and harassing us? Of course I was being aggresive what do you mean I was being attacked, even still I kept things civil, I even typed in unit as to not flood the chat…You said you warned me for the first part and then you banned me for the second? How is the second one punishable please explain? Also your warning specifically stated “Don’t harrash the commander” (That’s the context for why I complained about you allowing people to harrash us even though you didn’t want commander harrashed?) which I didn’t I complained about it after I was denied two tanks, and was warned for it, doesn’t matter what I think about being right or wrong, you’re here to enforce your rules based on evidence not my attitude on life, I didn’t join the server to shape my character but to play the game. Nonetheless I obeyed your warning and didn’t do any of that. I made an easily justifiable joke. You said it yourself, there’s supposed to be a fuel shortage and that’s why I was left hanging 2 times I asked for a tank.(which there wasn’t, as I stated before I asked for a medium because heavy was just spawned, we had enough for it I know how to press tab…) And then he spawnes a 75 heavy easily the most fuel wasting tank in the game? My game here is being sabottaged, you won’t do anything but warn me and I’m not allowed to get mad or joke. Of course I don’t think I did everything right but why does it matter? Is there anyone else punished through this? Did they do everything right? I am human man, I’m trying to play the game and if you’re not here to help do that then it’s natural I’ll be mad??

Also “I raged?” How? I didn’t “ignore” anything I responded to it, aknowledging what was said and simply added that you should not respond like that, in that aggresive manner “you don’t have to be like this”. Is what I said, I even said if you don’t want to chat about it here dm me the explanation, I bet all this can be seen even when deleted on discord no? This is why I said in the firstplace I was met with aggresiveness and not helpful staff in discord.

You have been punished for your attitude that affects the whole team.

 

As you said, my job is to enforce the rules, and also to keep our servers an enjoyable place. You might be correct about your commander doing wrong decisions, you might be correct about 75 being a waste. But in the end its still the commanders decision. He is a huge part of the game and he might be the reason the team loses, but that is part of the game. I cannot punish a player for being bad, same as I cannot punish anyone for being too good. If he doesnt troll on purpose, which was definitely not the case here, you just need to deal with it.

 

What is not part of the game is insulting (first part of the conversation before warning) or mocking (second part) someone for being bad. You can always be helpful, try to explain why you think he is wrong, without insults and unnecessary toxicity. We welcome everyone on our servers (that are not public as you claimed, but PBS Community) and we do not make fun and insult new or unexperienced players. We help them enjoy the game and get better.

 

Its up to you if you accept the PBS community standards and keep playing on our servers when your BAN expires, or want to behave like you did today and choose a different server.

Fine, I accept that and I bet I’d be a whole lot more respectful and in the mood to explain things if we weren’t being harrased by a guy in chat every time we said anything. My guy even says “xd” and gets mocked as “child”. Magiwara was meanwhile the one who flared things up in VOIP while claiming “I tried to calm them” in discord, no issues before that at all, no attitude no nothing you can even see it mentioned by my SL in chat in the first part. You can read the situation if you want to man but you’re only punishing me while letting people instigate the whole thing, provoke and harrash us for half the game. What I’m saying is you should hold everyone to the same standards, which you didn’t neither for the loud guy in VOIP nor for the loud guy in chat. You let them do this all game, got us fired up and then you point your finger and say “Unaccepatble behaviour”. Brother what are the standards you’re talking about? Are they different for me than for other people? Is there no context in the way you deal with things? Do you just see who is most reported in discord and ban them? The same argument I’ve been saying from the beggining.

As I said, I can only act based on what I can prove. You can notice that I didnt punish you straight on after you were reported for something that happened in VOIP – I didnt have any evidence. Same goes with your claims about Magiwara, there is no evidence. If you have a recording of the whole situation, it would help, it could even change my view of the whole situation.

But as I can only act based on evidence, I solved what I have seen in chat. And the situation in chat tells me that it was you who caused and heated the whole situation. Because most of it happened in VOIP, I only sent you a warning, I didnt want to punish anyone. But even after that you continued with mocking that guy, making fun of him, so I decided to act. And I ONLY punished you for 1 day, which I really need to emphasize, because its more of a cool down period than a punishment. If I had the VOIP recording that would tell me you really did all that was claimed in the report, it would be much longer penalty.

 

The standards are same for everyone, and in situations like this, I always try to find the cause rather than punishing everyone involved as I believe in more of a benevolent approach. And as I said, I identified the cause based on what I could see and only sent a warning to cool down the situation at first.

 

I hope this answers all your questions.

 

To end this whole debate, I would like to ask you to be more respectful to other players, accept that some of them might be new and others might be just not that good as you would like, and that its all part of the game. Instead of insulting or mocking them try to help them and if they do not want help, just play or hop onto one of our other servers.

 

Also if you feel that it is you who is being harrassed, you can always come to our Discord and report it so we can deal with it, its always the best way. Striking back will only lead to heating things up. And as you were banned on our Discord too, let me know if you are ready to follow its rules, too, so we can lift the Discord BAN so you can join back if needed. 🙂
