“To issue a ban for something that is not written in your code of conduct makes me feel a bit confused about how you govern your server administration.”
This is very simple. If you choose a name and in the meantime our society is devided about truthfinding resulting in such a personal dramatic event and the possible endangering of many people….Then to use such a name is questionable and could be seen as demonstrating your consent. So we stick to our rules and ban a person with potential offensive names.
It is up to you to oppose/ or disrespect our values.
So this is not about your teamplay on our server. I am willing to help you so I will contact the Admin who was involved!
