Def Brief HLLV-2

Patch 1.4 Live Now

Patch 1.4 is now live for Hell Let Loose: Vietnam, bringing around 200 fixes and improvements across the game.

This update is aiming to resolve two of the major community-reported issues we’ve been tracking; the first being distorted, robotic voices in Proximity Chat, and the second is persistent Recon Plane and Flare markers.

Patch 1.4 also introduces DLSS 4.5 support, with additional Frame Generation options, adds further protection against Career Level resets, and brings improvements to Tunnels, the Tactical Map, spawning, controls and more.

Thank you as always for continuing to share your reports and feedback with us. Here are some of the key improvements included in Patch 1.4:

Patch 1.4 Highlights

Proximity Chat

One of the highlights of this patch is the resolution to the VOIP issue where Proximity Chat could become distorted or robotic, as noted in Community Update #2.

We’ll continue monitoring VOIP following the update, so please continue reporting any issues you experience.

Persistent Recon & Flare Markers

We’ve continued to investigate reports of persistent Recon and Flare markers remaining on the Tactical Map, and since Patch 1.3 we believe we have identified one of the causes behind the issue.

As a result, we’ve implemented a fix in Patch 1.4 that we believe will address instances where enemy markers generated by Recon Planes and Flares remain visible for longer than intended.

We know that this has been one of the most frequently reported issues since launch and follows the improvements introduced in Patch 1.3 while we continued investigating the underlying cause.

We’ll be closely monitoring player reports following Patch 1.4 to confirm that the issue has been resolved as intended.

DLSS 4.5 Support

Patch 1.4 adds support for DLSS 4.5, including additional 5x and 6x Frame Generation options for supported (Nvidia 50 series) hardware.

Career Progression Protection

We’ve added additional safeguards designed to protect against instances where a player’s Career Level could unexpectedly reset to Level 1. We’ll continue monitoring progression reports following Patch 1.4.

Tac Map, Tunnels & Spawning

A number of improvements have been made to provide players with more information and make battlefield interactions more consistent.

The radius of Resource Nodes is now displayed on the 3D Tactical Map, whilst Tunnel and Garrison connection messaging has been improved. Tunnel travel screens also now provide travel time information.

We’ve also resolved an issue where other players could prevent spawn points from being constructed by walking through their blueprint, and Commanders can now correctly place abilities over spawn points on the tactical map.

Gameplay & Controls

Patch 1.4 also includes a number of quality-of-life (QOL) improvements across gameplay and controls. Reviving a player can no longer be interrupted by another player attempting to drag them, Satchel placement has been improved, and downed players will now correctly drown while underwater. Helicopter gunner seats now respect the Toggle ADS setting, alongside further fixes for mouse input rebinding and controller inputs.
