      Vehicle claims – “In the event of multiple vehicles variations, the more specific claim takes priority. For example, “PARS MK19” takes priority over “PARS” if there is more than 1 type of Pars.”

      We might need to readdress the main camping rule, it can cause a lot of players to leave the server if they can’t get vehicles out of main. So I suggest we see how this goes, and admins can step in if its getting too difficult.

       

      For seeding, I think a “Do not build HABs until the round is live” is also a good rule to have, stops people HAB spamming.

       

      I also think a “All rules are at admins discretion” is good to add too.

       

      Otherwise, I think the rules look good.

      So, I was speaking to some of the more well known players in Squad, talking about running a server etc, and whats needed. I know the squad playerbase can be a bit picky about their servers, and for us to run a good quality one, we want to try to attract good SLs, otherwise the games tend to be a constant shitshow.

      So some of the things they said were:

      1. You need active admins, there are often claim issues, intentional teamkilling etc that needs addressing, plugins help, but nothing better than an admin that can intervene quickly. This is preferred if the admins are playing, but at least able to jump on quickly if needed.
      2. Regular rotation changes (easy enough for us to do though – remember squad has about 300 different layers, so lots of variety to choose from)
      3. Ability to gain whitelist is good (RB – the main server I play on, they give 30 days whitelist to the first 20 players who help seed 10 times in a 30 day period – I think there is a plugin they use to track this, but does require manual effort to add and remove the whitelist)
      4. Clear rules on main camping/vehicle claiming etc. (tbh, most of the good servers have very similar if not the same rules for this, so easy for us to do)
      5. Fair balancing when one team is stomping (this is only really something we can do when there is enough PBS players playing on the server, but usually done by an admin requesting the clan to swap to the losing side to balance)

       

      In terms of the best seeding maps, because the maps made for seeding are all small area types, any work, you just change which one whenever you change the rotation.

      Any one that says is seed is a seeding layer. In most rotations, I would have a rotation of about 15-20 layers, and change this about once a week. and mostly stick to RAAS and AAS, and only rarely put in a skirmish or TC map as they are not very popular.

      Squad can be afk seeded. As I understand it, the seeding maps and plugins can be set up to sort that. I would play on a squad PBS server, as I’m quite active on squad recently, but it’s probably not the best time to start up a server until OWI release a hot fix for their server browser, as it’s dogshit since a recent update, and you struggle to find servers easily.

       

      If you do set one up, I would be happy to help admin and seed it most days.

      I am available any day pretty much (although before 8pm CET for the next 7d due to work). But should be able to seed. Best time to start seeding a squad server seems to be a 11am CET start.

      No update from OWI as to when they might fix the server browser issues, or when the next update will be.

      It’s kind of like what pigeon said below. There are specific layers of each map that are for seeding. Combining this with server plugins, you can have the “kick when AFK” function turned off until the server rolls to rotation. Basically the seeding layer with plugins goes on eternally until it hits the trigger number if people (50/100 usually). Where then the “round starts” and the tickets will start decreasing until one team wins. Then it rolls to the server rotation, unless an admin rolls it sooner. Once rolled to rotation, the plugins for kicking afk players etc all reactivate.

      I don’t know how to set all this up, just know this is how it works on one of the servers I play on. I could probably find out how to set it up though.
