Believe it or not, running community servers costs actual money.  I’ve not been paid to write this either.

PBS operates numerous servers to bring you a place to enjoy games together.

Donating does not line the pockets of the boss.  These donations fund the operation and upkeep of the servers.  Any excess goes into developing new servers and making improvements to additional services to keep the clan going and moving forwards.

Having only been with the clan for less than 1 year, I felt donating a small amount (around £5) every now and then gave a bit back to the clan which provides some awesome servers and a fun place to play.

If you can, instead of buying that next bag of chips/crisps, pop a few quid in the PBS donation box and we can continue to play together until the end of the earth (2028).

I think coordinating a clan this big is quite a big task and makes it possible for us to play our favourite games with nice people.

So giving back a bit by making sure that the costs are covered is a nice thing to do.

<h6>I’ve run clans in the past (My Eveonline corp was the biggest) and between the organisation, server rental and web development it’s a big undertaking…especially if you don’t delegate and manage these things yourself.
Dedication to a cause costs – in time and money, especially if you wnat to do it right, so wanting people to put their hands in their pockets isn’t a big ask, even less of an ask when you have more than 50 people in a clan, as technically that’s easily 300 sheets you should be able to raise on a month by month basis, even if those 50 donated 5 euros per head, that’s still 250 sheets..not to be sniffed at.
I’m not going to soapbox, but after my bills I always factor in the costs to servers I’m associated with, as it’s common decency – nothing in life is free, unfortunately and once you get into the habit of adding cost your leisure time it stops being a bother.

Totally makes sense. I think it’s only right that some form of co-operative donation should be in place to keep things running. Server costs will increase over time and so will administration time as the clan size increases.

+1 it helps all the way around the board for the community. will be donating $50 to help us hit our donation goal! $5 or $50 is all about coming togather ,for a great cause!
