I would like to know if there are any books anyone would like to suggest as good Vietnam reading material.

My 2 main genres are fantasy and history, and in my travels I’ve already read one that I could advice to anyone interested in the vietnam war.
You don’t even have to go to the bookstore to find it, just take your phone and go to the book store app from android. There you can find many books related to the vietnam war and I would suggest reading: ‘Blood on the risers: An Airborne Soldier’s Thirty-five Months in Vietnam’ by John Leppelman

‘From Dak To to the Tet Offensive, John Leppelman saw it all. In three tours of duty, he made combat jumps, spent months of fruitless effort looking for the enemy, watched as his buddies died because of lousy leadership and lousy weapons. He saw the war as few others did, and lives to tell about the valor and sacrifice that outlived the dead.’

This book reads as a Vietnam’s Band Of Brothers, where you join John in a journey that reads like a diary over his entire stay in Vietnam.
What makes it so special is the honesty and all the details from the blood to the dismembered limbs. What makes John’s story so special is that he went into Vietnam enlisted as an Airborne. Along the way he joined a boat crew as an army seaman, going up and down the rivers, but he also joined the special forces going deep behind enemy lines surrounded by VC in the harsh unfriendly Jungles. And throughout his journey he describes the good and the bad.
It really keeps you reading and takes you straight into the jungle of Nam. A real good read!

If you have a similar book you like to suggest, please do!
