Hey pianoman,

 

playing as AT quite often, I found when having to fight the front of a Tiger or Panther, aiming for the tracks is a good decision. It does a fair amount of damage and if they really kill or destroy you, at least you have disabled their tracks. This buys your team some time and leaves your opponent vulnerable.
