Meet “Picardie”
Battlefield 1's first tank behemoth is the Char 2C, or FCM 2C, tank. This tank was a massive beast on the battlefield. Interestingly, the tank shown in the Battlefield 1 concept art for the upcoming They Shall Not Pass downloadable content (DLC) has a number: 92. This number corresponds with one of the actual production Char 2Cs, nicknamed "Picardie." Join me as I delve into the history behind Battlefield 1's new Char 2C Behemoth and what happened to it. Development of the Char 2C began near the end of WWI, and the behemoth never saw service with the French during…

BF1 History: Sharpshooters & Snipers
Snipers in World War I on the Western Front were used for psychological warfare in quieter times and during offensive to destroy key enemy positions like machine gun emplacements. While the French and the German Army started with rules and regulations for these troops, the British Army quickly had to adapt. Francis Pegahmagabow was not only the most successful sniper of World War 1, but he is also among the most decorated aboriginal soldiers in history. He joined the Canadian Army in 1914 and quickly made a name for himself as a sniper during reconnaissance missions. https://youtu.be/kYzDBeG3By0 Source: The…

BF1 HISTORY: THE MEUSE-ARGONNE OFFENSIVE
The Meuse-Argonne Offensive, also known as the Maas-Argonne Offensive and the Battle of the Argonne Forest, was a major part of the final Allied offensive of World War I that stretched along the entire Western Front. It was fought from September 26, 1918, until the Armistice of 11 November 1918, a total of 47 days. The Meuse-Argonne Offensive was the largest in United States military history, involving 1.2 million American soldiers, and was one of a series of Allied attacks known as the Hundred Days Offensive, which brought the war to an end. The battle cost 28,000 German lives and…
Battlefield 1 teaser details
Battlefield 1 teaser shows new Elite Class and what looks like the Char 2C tank – first details next week. Along with the announcement on Twitter, the developers also posted 15 second teaser for the French army, coming to Battlefield 1 with the release. At first, the teaser doesn’t seem to show much more than a massive tank along with a man in a mask brandishing a club. As a fire rages behind him, you also see a French flag billowing. But, there’s more to it than that, as our resident Battlefield expert explains in the video above. According to…
