With the 1.3 / Underground update we got five new Gear Sets, the old ones were redesigned and that mixed up the possible combinations a lot. This is a collection of the popular Gear Set combinations, where you can find them and how you can use them.
      <div class=”content”>

You can find the 1.1 / 1.2 Gear Set Combos here: Link

      New/Old Gear Sets
The classic Striker and Sentry´s Call Gear Set have been the foundation of many builds since they were introduced. With the new update, they got a rework and the buffs of the Gear Set has been distributed over 5 pieces. But while the 2 / 3-piece bonus has changed, the 4-piece bonus is still the same and you still get the Gear Set Talent when you have 4 items equipped. That means, you can still run the 4-piece set, but when you want the same buffs as before, you need to equip 5 items.

      Sentry’s Call
With 1.3 we got the new Heroic Mode difficulty that introduced level 35 enemies to the Incursions and the Underground Operations. This made DPS and buffs from Gear Sets / Skills even more important and because of that Sentry´s Call is still one of the standard builds in The Division. You can give a huge damage buff for the whole group and especially with the level 35 enemies, you can use all the damage you get to tear them down.

      • 2 Piece Bonus:
        +10% Headshot Damage
      • 3 Piece Bonus:
        +10% Damage to Elites
      • 5 Piece Bonus:
        +20% Headshot Damage
        +10% Damage to Elites

      Striker’s Battlegear
This was the go-to choice for CQC-Combat when it was introduced back in 1.1, because on close range you can really profit from the Gear Set Bonus. But with the introduction of the new Gear Sets – such as AlphaBridge – Striker was pretty much replaced.

      • 2 Piece Bonus:
        +10% Enemy Armor Damage
      • 3 Piece Bonus:
        +20% Critical Hit Damage
      • 5 Piece Bonus:
        +10% Enemy Armor Damage
        +30% Critical Hit Damage

      Tactician’s Authority
This is the classic support-set that increases your skill-power each time your team does 60k damage. While in 1.2 this set dominated PvP in the Tanktitian combo, with the 268 GS items and Final Measure combinations, the feared Sticky Bomb has lost it´s teeth. But when you are searching for a set to really buff your team with Smart Cover, heal them with Support Station or First Aid, this is still the set to go and very helpful against level 35 enemies or the new Incursion.

      • 2 Piece Bonus:
        +4,000 Skill Power
      • 3 Piece Bonus:
        +20% Skill Haste
      • 4 Piece Bonus:
Every 60k damage your group deals adds 1% skill power to you for a max of 100% bonus. Bonus is reduced by 1% every second the group isn’t dealing damage.

      Predator’s Mark
With the 1.3 balancing of the weapons, the Assault Rifles got a unique weapon perk that gives you more damage against armor. But since that bonus is not applied in PVP, it has no impact at all. Overall Predator´s Mark is still an option you can choose for PVP, because the bleed effect has its uses. It falls short in PVE , because this is more a damage over time set and less burst damage and exactly that is needed to prevail against level 35 enemies. So it is a niche option that can be useful in the right combinations.

      • 2 Piece Bonus:
        20% Optimal Range
      • 3 Piece Bonus:
        800 Assault Rifle Damage
        700 Pistol Damage
      • 4 Piece Bonus:
Every time you hit 10 Bullets without switching the target, will apply bleed to the target. The bleed damage will be 100% of the damage already done by the bullets.

      1.3 Additions
Alpha Bridge – Comes to all players with the 1.3 update
This is one of the most versatile sets that were added with 1.3, but it has also a complex Set Bonus. The 4-Set Bonus combines all active and unique talents of your main weapons, when you have two of the same archetype equipped. So when you have all your Weapon Talents unlocked, you have a weapon with 6 active Weapon Talents (but you can´t stack the same talents). These talents will give you a constant buff and depending on your weapon, you can have a very powerful combination.

      • 2 Piece Bonus:
        +2 Medkit Capacity
      • 3 Piece Bonus:
        +100% Health Regen
      • 4 Piece Bonus:
If your Primary and Secondary Weapon is of the same category, they both gain all of the unique active talents.

      DeadEYE (Underground Exclusive)
This is a very classic sniper set that can be even more enhanced with the Hunter´s Faith bonus. The main problem with this set is, that as long as Sentry´s Call in the mix, DeadEYE can´t really shine or establish itself as viable choice for DPS players in PVE.

      • 2 Piece Bonus:
20% Marksman Rifle Critical Hit Damage
      • 3 Piece Bonus:
        +40% Initial Bullet Stability
      • 4 Piece Bonus:
While not scoped critical hit chance on marksman Rifles is increased to 100%, but headshot damage bonus is removed.

      FireCrest (Underground Exclusive)
With FireCrest and Reclaimer you have a similar situation like with DeadEYE and Sentry´s Call. The Reclaimer set gives the buff from the consumables – such as Incendiary Ammo – to the whole group and you have an infinite supply of these consumables. Also with the nerf of the Special Ammunition by 75%, there are few to none arguments for a set like FireCrest that specializes on that specific Consumable. As a solo player, it is also quite difficult to get the 4-piece bonus to work, because you basically need to set the mobs on fire first, before you can even profit from the Gear Set Talent. The big advantage from this set is the 3-piece 100% reload speed bonus, that can be found in multiple shotgun-build-combos.

      • 2 Piece Bonus:
        +3 Incendiary Bullets
      • 3 Piece Bonus:
        +100% reload speed
      • 4 Piece Bonus:
Killing a burning enemy grants Incendiary Bullet for 10 seconds.

      B.L.I.N.D. (Underground Exclusive)
Similar to FireCrest, B.L.I.N.D. was deployed without the item that had the best synergy with it – the B.L.I.N.D. Assault Rifle. In addition to that, while the Flashbang effect is very effective against Rushers and similar enemies, other players are not immune against the Flashbang effect and especially in Underground, when you don´t have a lot of room to maneuver, the last thing you want is to be blind from a badly placed flashbang. So the only thing that really established itself from this set is the 2-piece bonus.

      • 2 Piece Bonus:
        +20% Pulse Critical Hit Damage
      • 3 Piece Bonus:
        100% Blind / Deaf resistance
      • 4 Piece Bonus:
Killing a target creates a Flashbang effect at that position.

      Reclaimer (Underground Exclusive)
For a long time, the Consumables were almost forgotten. While the Special Ammunition was extensively used in PvP, the rest was pretty much ignored. With the Reclaimer set, these Consumables get a comeback and this time, you can support the whole group with the bonus and they are not even used up when activated. So in terms of support the Reclaimer and Tactician’s Authority are the best choices to become the buff-bot for the squad.

      • 2 Piece Bonus:
        100% Support Station healing speed
      • 3 Piece Bonus:
        50% longer Consumables Duration
      • 4 Piece Bonus:
Consumables and Special Ammo applies to the whole group and are not consumed on use.

      Consumables you can use:

      • Canned Food
Increases healing effects on player by 40%. Effect lasts for 30s.
      • Energy Bar
Instantly removes all negative Status Effects on the player and protects the player from all Status Effects for 5s.
      • Water
Increases all damage dealt to elite enemies by 20%. Effect lasts for 30s.
      • Soda
Reduces all cooldowns on skills by 30%. Effect lasts for 30s.

      Loot Tables
The Division has designated loot tables, that prioritize specific sets in specific activities. While in general all sets can and will drop everywhere, when you are searching for a specific set, these are the activities you need to farm:

      1.1 and 1.2 sets

      • Lone Star => High Value Targets (Daily and weekly)
      • Nomad => Dark Zone
      • Final Measure => Dark Zone
      • Striker´s Call => Falcon Lost Incursion
      • Sentry´s Call => Falcon Lost Incursion
      • Tactician Authority => Falcon Lost Incursion
      • Predator’s Mark => Clear Skies Incursion
      • Hunter’s Faith => Clear Skies Incursion

Since the 1.3 sets are split up in Underground and free content, the loot tables are a bit more complex. Notable is, that AlphaBridge is free for all, all others will only drop, when you have the Underground DLC.

      AlphaBridge Gear Set
This set has no real designated drop location. So you can get it in the Dark Zone, the Underground, Incursions and Missions.

      • Dark Zone
        – Supply Drops
        – Named NPCs
        – Sealed Caches
      • PVE:

        – Underground

      • Named NPCs Underground & Dragon’s Nest
      • Underground Cache

      FireCrest Gear Set

      • Dark Zone Supply Drop
      • Underground Cache
      • Underground Mission Reward
      • Named NPCs Underground & Dragon’s Nest

      Gear Score 268 Items
One of the frequently asked questions is also, where to get the new 268 items:

      • Underground Heroic Mode
      • Underground Cache (when you have enough high gear score)
      • Dark Zone DZ 5/6 in the 230+ Bracket
      • Weekly HVT Targets
      • Incursions on Heroic Difficulty

Brutal, Deadly, Fierce, Vicious, Competent, Capable
      • Shotgun
Brutal, Fierce, Responsive, Accurate, Swift, Deadly

      Important Gear Talents
While the Gear Sets can give you interesting perks that can change your gameplay, some of the normal High-End gear pieces are still in the mix, because they have special Gear Talents that can make a huge difference. These are the three Gear Talents you will find in most combinations to support the 4-piece Gear Set Talent:

      • Reckless: You deal X% more damage and receive X% more damage.
      • Savage: Your Critical hit chance is increased by X% against targets out of cover.
      • Vigorous: All your healing skills have Over Heal enabled.

      Gear Set Combinations
      Sentry´s Call
Even though it was reworked into a 5-piece set, it is still king in terms of raw damage, because with three marks on an enemy, the whole team gets a 45+% damage buff to what they already do. Since the Gear Set Talent itself still activates with four equipped items, there are still quite a few combos in the mix:

      • 5 Sentry´s Call + HE Savage gloves
      • 5 Sentry´s Call + HE Vigorous or Reckless chest piece
      • 4 Sentry´s Call + 2 Final Measure – (+50% Exotic Damage Resilience)
      • 4 Sentry´s Call + 2 B.L.I.N.D – (+20% Pulse Critical Hit Damage)
      • 2 Sentry´s Call + 2 DeadEYE + 2 Hunter’s Faith – (2x +20% Marksmen Rifle Critical Hit Damage)

      Striker’s Battlegear
Striker´s Battlegear is still a good option for CQC when you can reliably work with the 4-piece talent, but overall this set was replaced with the new sets such as AlphaBridge.

      • 5 Striker’s Battlegear + HE Savage gloves
      • 5 Striker’s Battlegear + HE Vigorous or Reckless chest piece

      Tacticians Authority
This set was not reworked with the 1.3 update, it is still the strongest skill based support set and with the Tanktitian build, you are still almost unkillable. The new sets also allow even more pure support builds, where you can help the team with the Support Station from Reclaimer or the Pulse buff from B.L.I.N.D.

      • 4 Tacticians Authority + 2 Final Measure – (+50% Exotic Damage Resilience) – (Tanktitian)
      • 4 Tacticians Authority + 2 Reclaimer – (100% Support Station healing speed)
      • 4 Tacticians Authority + 2 B.L.I.N.D. – (+20% Pulse Critical Hit Damage)

      Predator´s Mark
This set is more popular in PvP than PvE, because in PvE and level 35 enemies, you just need burst-damage and not damage over time. These are the combinations you can run depending on your playstyle or content.

      • 4 Predator´s Mark + HE Savage gloves + HE Reckless Chest / HE Vigorous chest
      • 4 Predator´s Mark + HE Savage gloves + HE Reckless / HE Vigorous chest
      • 4 Predator´s Mark + 2 Sentry´s Call – (+10% Headshot Damage)
      • 4 Predator´s Mark + 2 Final Measure – (+50% Exotic Damage Resilience)
      • 3 Predator´s Mark + 3 FireCrest (Range and AR Bonus, +100% reload speed)

      Lone Star
While Lone Star can be used in combination with the new buffed Shotguns, most of the time the 2-piece bonus “100% ammo buff” is the best contribution that Lone Star has brought to the table.

      • 4 Lone Star + HE Savage gloves + HE Reckless chest
      • 3 Lone Star + 3 FireCrest – (Ammo/Shotgun bonus + 100% reload speed)
      • 3 Lone Star + 2 Sentry + HE Savage gloves? (+10% Headshot Damage)

      AlphaBridge
This set took a bit of time until it made it´s way into the meta, because the 4-piece bonus was a bit confusing. After a bit of theory crafting, the best combinations of Weapon Talents were found and with the new powerful Assault Rifles such as G36 (or soon the new B.L.I.N.D Assault Rifle) in combination with the Caduceus, AlphaBridge soon became a core component of the new meta. As a set, AlphaBridge is very versatile and depending on your playstyle or content you can profit from these combinations:

      • 4 AlphaBridge + 2 Sentry´s Call – (+10% Headshot Damage)
      • 4 AlphaBridge + 2 Lone Star – (100% Ammo Capacity)
      • 4 AlphaBridge + 2 Final Measure – (+50% Exotic Damage Resilience)
      • 4 AlphaBridge + 2 Striker´s Battlegear – (+10% Enemy Armor Damage)
      • 4 AlphaBridge + 2 Tactician´s Authority – (+4,000 Skill Power)
      • 4 AlphaBridge + HE Vigorous chest + HE Savage Gloves
      • 4 AlphaBridge + HE Savage gloves + HE Reckless chest

      Reclaimer
This is next to Tactician’s Authority the most powerful support set, because you can support your team with an infinite amount of consumable buffs. Four players with Incendiary Rounds or 20% damage buff against elites from water can make a huge difference. In terms of combos, these are the support combinations:

      • 4 Reclaimer + 2 B.L.I.N.D. – (+20% Pulse Critical Hit Damage)
      • 4 Reclaimer + 2 Tactician´s Authority – (+4,000 Skill Power)
      • 4 Reclaimer + 2 Final Measure – (+50% Exotic Damage Resilience)

      FireCrest
The main problem with FireCrest is, that the 4-piece bonus is overshadowed by the Reclaimer Gear Set and does not really bring much to the table. But with the 100% reload speed, it sill has a good 3-piece bonus that can be viable in various combinations:

      • 4 FireCrest + 2 B.L.I.N.D – (+20% Pulse Critical Hit Damage)
      • 3 FireCrest + 3 Predator’s Mark + Assault Rifle – (+100% reload speed, Range and AR Bonus)
      • 3 FireCrest + 2 B.L.I.N.D + HE Savage gloves – (+20% Pulse Critical Hit Damage)
      • 3 FireCrest + 2 B.L.I.N.D + HE Reckless chest – (+20% Pulse Critical Hit Damage)
      • 3 FireCrest + 3 Lone Star – (+ 100% reload speed, Ammo/Shotgun bonus)

      DeadEYE
Since DeadEYE is pretty much a Marksmen Rifle exclusive set, there are only very few combos it really shines and overall in heroic content it still can´t keep up with the Sentry´s Call bonus.

      • 4 DeadEYE + 2 Hunter’s Faith – (+20% Marksmen Rifle Critical Hit Damage)

      Last Words
As stated in the last summary, these combinations are sometimes very hard to get and when special named items such as the Caduceus are involved, it needs quite a bit of farming and luck. Overall while the changes to Sentry´s Call and Strikers Battlegear made many of the old combinations less effective, Sentry´s Call is still part of the core meta and with the new 1.3 Gear Sets we also have a few more combinations that can be very effective in PVE or even PvP.

But to be realistic, it boils down to very few combinations that are the “best in slot” choices in a group and when you really want to max out your effectiveness in the role you play. Skill-support: Tactician’s Authority, Consumables Support: Reclaimer, DPS: Sentry´s Call, CQC: AlphaBridge / FireCrest / Predator´s Mark.

In the end all this is up to RNG and depending on your loot, your playstyle, sometimes other combinations suit you better and especially when you are gearing up through the content, sometimes you have to make compromises. Especially since Damage Mitigation and Toughness are also a core element to keep you alive, sometimes a mix of different sets is more effective to keep you alive until you get good rolls on the Gear Set you really want.
