So I’m interested in how you play the game.
From what I’ve read the best tactic to get consistent top 10 or top 5 finishes is just getting a car, driving to a city far away from the course of the plane and stocking up on meds. Then when the circle closes you just med up in the blue and join when the 4th circle begins.Thoughts on the strategy? Do you play for placements and points or do you go aggro and maybe die in the first few minutes? Consistency by looting safely or dropping military base?
I mostly use the second option, but it’s kind of all or nothing.

Unlike Jiller whose method we used last night & kept dying with, I prefer to drop in somewhere quiet like Gatka & quietly make my way around there & nearby buildings looting for weapons I like & whatever armor & meds I can scrounge up. If I’m in the circle then I’ll camp inside of a building with a shotgun at the ready until I’m forced to move. Easy top 10 to top 5 that way.
If you do decide to drop in like Jiller & there’s a bunch of other people dropping in at the same place with you, don’t bother wasting time chasing someone round trying to punch them to death. Try to grab any weapon as quick as you can – doesn’t matter what it is – lock & load it, don’t bother wasting time trying to find armor or better loot, just run out & try to take down as many people as possible while they are busy looting or engaging with other enemies. If you somehow manage to survive, resume looting for better weapons, armor, meds & vehicle that you can use to drive to somewhere more remote where you can camp out of the way while you wait for the other players to whittle away the numbers a wee bit.
Here’s a couple of extra tips. Always wear drab clothes (black, green, grey or brown). They are less easy for enemies to spot. A bright red or orange shirt or the yellow tracksuit is going to stick out like a sore thumb. Don’t bother with coats as they often end up making you more visible.
Also if happen to find yourself having to run across an open field without much cover & there’s a load of bushes, switch to crouch running & run through the bushes as enemies will have to double take if they happen to be looking your way without a decent scope. With some luck they’ll just think it was a bush they saw getting drawn in by the engine & ignore it. Also bushes are your friend in later stages of the game, as are the cornfields if you end up in them, but bushes are better because you have the higher ground over people lying prone – just a shame the foliage obstructs your bloody view somewhat.
Final tip. If you see a pan. Equip the pan. Love the pan. Cherish the pan forever. Pans can deflect bullets regardless of whether you are holding it, swinging it around like some nutcase tripping on acid, or have it stored on your back like a turtle. I recommend just storing it as it acts like a shield against people shooting from behind you. With some luck they’ll shoot low & hit the pan instead of center mass or your head. Plink! Plonk!

Ok seems I am no longer allowed to edit my last post, so I’ll just create a new one. 🙁
Played a game earlier with Raxor & he had pretty sound tactics. If you happen to find yourself jumping/parachuting for the same location with a ragtag rabble of enemy players, then consider peeling off & keeping a lookout for a vehicle that you can use to drive away from the path the plane took. In our case he ended up taking us up to the Prison where we managed to find some pretty decent loot & a nice stockpile of meds. Unfortunately we got stuck in a bit of a bad situation later on & ended up having to try to storm a house that was below are position – with enemies that were aware of our position – due to that bloody blue circle of death.

No, no, no, no, no! Go to Pochinki; you won’t die there – honest. Janet’s main tactic involves joining a squad, saying absolutely nothing, not even an “hello, how’d you do partner” & then constantly running off on her tod chasing after butterflies or something…
Anyway, yes… more tips. UMP = ACE (yes I’m possibly talking about vitamins, but whatever). Equip some attachments to that thing along with a red dot or 2x scope, set to burst fire & you can do some serious damage to close-by enemies without having to worry about recoil. Best partnered with forearm stock grip, suppressor (if you can find one or flash hider) & an extended quickdraw mag. Almost took out an entire squad that tried rushing us from different directions while we were hold up in a house.
More tips, yes, more! We somehow managed to win one of the rounds earlier where we ended up in the second to last circle inside of a small shack like house with windows everywhere. I hated it because it was exposed & there was 3 of us so we couldn’t all cover a direction, which was a pain as there was enemies spread out in different directions around us. I recommend avoiding those buildings as they make useless cover. I think Eitan ended up being knocked down 2 or 3 times while we was in there, but I didn’t want to move from where I was looking as there was people in the building right next to us, but luckily Janet was there to keep getting him back up onto his feet. We shouldn’t have won that round. If the different enemy squads had rushed us at same time we’d have been slaughtered. Anyway moral of the story is don’t use the single-storey houses with windows on all sides as there’s not much cover in them & coordinated enemies could easily flank & pincer you using one of their own players as bait while at least 2 fan out for a surprise pincer attack while your busy engaging with the distraction – I guess that tip works both ways. Take it as you will.
I watched a bunch of tip videos earlier & apparently going barefoot makes your movement slightly quieter. I personally didn’t notice the difference, because everyone else had boots/shoes on & we were all talking constantly. Also from another tip video, it mentioned that because level 3 backpacks are really bulky it means the enemy can see your bag poking up out of the wheat/corn fields while you are prone; providing they are crouched, standing or have higher ground than you. It mentions that you should just drop the backpacks towards the end if you know longer need them. I personally only bother with level 2 backpacks as I’m not much for hoarding. Once I have the weapons & gear I want I start dropping all of the useless attachments I don’t need & ammo I have no use for; unless someone in the squad requests some.
Ok final tip… I figured a really really easy way to do the crouch jump without needing to practice it. Simply bind jump & crouch to the thumb buttons of your mouse (providing you have them). Then all you have to do when you get to a window or wall or crate or something you want to jump up on, over or through, you just need to be walking forward with w then use your thumb to click both the thumb buttons on your mouse at the same time. Works ? times out of 5. I actually managed to jump through a window, up a wall & if you do it while standing still in a house your head pretty much touches the roof – woah, sick air bro!
Ok ok, 1 final tip. Squad up with Eitan. He’s a brilliant shot & will carry you when you play shit.
</tips></end>

Thanks for all the participation here!
Yeah, I guess to have a higher chance at winning I should change up my playstyle a bit. I just always am really annoyed if I drop somewhere remote, loot it and then don’t find a car and the circle is 5 kilometers away. PU: Running Simulator.
Did they ever change the spawn points for vehicles? I remember a map that was posted on the PUBG subreddit that showed spawn locations.

You mean this one? https://pbsgameteam.com/forums/topic/a-usefull-map/ 😀
Basically anywhere near a city should have vehicle spawns, but because it’s random, that’s not always the case, though if you keep following a road or sticking to cities/small towns as you make your way to the circle, you should be able to find a car, but a buggy or bike is more likely in the more remote locations. It would be really nice if they could add some more vehicle types like quads & dirt bikes & mountain bikes or something, just to mix things up a bit more. I also don’t understand why we as a driver aren’t allowed to use single hand weapons like pistols or the micro uzi to fire out of the car while driving. Well, here’s hoping they add the ability to do solo drive-by tactics in the future – at least with bikes/buggies/quads.
P.S you don’t have to change your playstyle so much, try peeling off away from the cities to somewhere more remote, but near-ish to a city, that way you should be relatively safe & close enough to find a vehicle after you’ve done looting. Or do as Raxor did & peel off towards a vehicle if you spot one while parachuting down, take it immediately & move away from the flight path to somewhere you know usually has decent loot. It’s like the story of the race between the turtle & the hare. The hare is impatient & messes around & in the end the turtle wins because it took things slow & steady. Yes playing safely, gets a bit boring, but it’s an easy way to make last 10 or last 5 standing.

What is it with the editing feature on this forum CMS? Sometimes I see it for some replies & other times not? Sorry, kind of annoyed at the minute. Some creepy crawly bug somehow found its way under the glass of my monitor screen, I thought it was on top of the screen so I went to flick it off & it went splat. Now I have a thing the size of a few pixels over on the right hand side of my monitor I can’t get rid of. :shakefuckingshark:
Anyway, here’s another tip… this one concerns the red circle of spectacular firework display. If you find yourself in the red circle & there’s houses nearby, quickly run to the nearest one, go in, close the doors & stand away from the doors & windows & ride out the storm. For some reason the buildings are immune to the red zone, but the windows are not, so stay away from those. If you happen to already be in a building when the red zone hits & you know there’s an enemy or enemies in a nearby building & are feeling incredibly lucky (god mode on) you could make your way over to the enemies building as soon as the explosions start & use the noise to enter & storm the building while the enemies are distracted & can’t hear shit. You just have to pray you don’t get blown up while doing that, but it could potentially be worth the risk.
If you happen to be in a vehicle & the red zone hits, just drive on out of there as fast as you can. If you are driving & a red zones pops up on the path you are on, you should be able to safely drive through it if you put your foot down to the floor. We haven’t been blown up driving through a red zone yet, but I assume it can & does happen if you happen to be one of the sods with poor luck rating. Maybe next time you’ll put luck to 5+ on your (fallout ref) perk screen you bloody wally! 😉
The red zone also works as a nice way for masking noise you make with both movement & while shooting when the red zone is nearby as enemies will have a hard time pin pointing where the sound is coming from.

& another yin. To shuffle or not to shuffle? While watching some of the Gamescom PUBG Invitational stream, I noticed that a lot of the players are constantly shuffling around, but the question is, do they really need to do that all the time? Personally I don’t think they do. I believe it was the guy that won the second round of tpp solo that spent a large portion of the round shuffling around inside of one of those little shack (fuck boy shack) things, but the question for me is, why did he bother constantly shuffling around as no one could take shots at him in there & all he’s doing is generating movement noise which will reduce your ability to listen out for gunshots in the distance, vehicles & players approaching on foot.
For me, it makes more sense to use it while inside of a building if you want to bait/distract an enemy or even a bunch of enemies if playing duo or squad while reducing your chances of being shot. I can also see the use of shuffling around while being behind limited cover while out in the open as it will make it harder for any enemies coming up from behind or flanks from being able to hit you.
Same while looting in the open, providing you are able to multi-task. Unfortunately I find it hard to move my character around while I’m trying to drag things around the inventory screen – I guess I don’t have enough cpu cores for multi-tasking. If like me you struggle to spam WASD randomly while looting with the inventory open, just crouch or go prone, grab a few important things like meds & ammo as quick as you can & then get out of there otherwise you might find yourself dead before you even had a chance to tab out of the inventory screen if you spend too long arsing around checking every single thing they had.
What would be nice is if we could assign some key bindings to auto grab all of some specific thing from the ground/enemy crate such as meds or ammo (for primary or secondary weapon), etc from the inventory without having to drag or right click it.
P.S: @Frank please could you make it so we can edit our posts as many times as we like? I find stack posting messy; even though it’s netting me points for a new reply.

I do the shuffle nearly automatically now haha. When I stand around in the open I just shuffle around. But yeah, when people cant see you anyway it doesnt make sense to shuffle around and potentially produce enough noise to alert people to your location.
Gotta say that switching my style up a bit and not jumping school over and over has lead me to win  more games. Since Im not skilled enough to kill everyone I see it makes it more likely I win if I only have to engage the last few people. And not 4 squads while in the open just cause Im shooting at someone and making to much noise.
Which is another thing to remember. You only have to kill 1 guy in the end to win. If you see someone running past, but you dont have the cover or safety to shoot them (and he doesnt seem you obviously)…. dont shoot. Just let him past, remember where he is and go from there. No need to give away your position if youre hidden.

Aye, especially if you aren’t the best of shots when it comes to moving targets – like me. It’s always hard to know when to engage & a lot of people will get antsy & just go for the kill because they know they have the drop on someone, but you will give away your position as soon as you fire if you aren’t using a suppressed weapon. I think a good time to just leave people be – even when you have the drop on them – is if you can hear gunshots somewhere close, like to one side, or especially behind you as you could potentially give your position away to them which might end up allowing someone to get the drop on you after you engage with your own prey or while you are descending on your preys body like a bloody vulture.
Speaking of bodies, if you knock a person down but not out, it might be worth leaving them crawling around & moving position to watch & see if one of their team mates comes to revive them. Let them start healing for a couple seconds, then blast the shit out of both of them.
One last thing. When in the plane. Decide on one place. Mark it on the map & everyone else remove your markers as it often ends up leading to confusion on where to go & members of your squad end up getting split up to different locations. A sound tactic would be setting 2 locations. Primary destination & peel off destination in case the place you were heading for has lots of other people going to it. Communication is the key, though it’s really hard sometimes because someone will be saying north > north-west or a bearing degree, but what you have to remember is that the direction & bearing will likely be absolutely useless if everyone in your squad is spread too far out. If you are clustered near each other then bearings are fine, if you are close-ish then just use general compass directions like north to north-west because they at least give the rest of the squad a general direction to use for their own recon, unlike the bearing which could have them looking way too far of-course.
Final note: I wish I could actually employ half the tactics I’ve written about on here, but unfortunately my head just seems to throw caution to the wind when I’m actually in-game. It’s so hard keeping cool, calm & collected as soon as the bullets start flying.

Right, back to talking tactics again. For some reason, every game I played earlier we all ended up getting split up when we jumped from the plane, which wasn’t great at all. Shame we didn’t employ the all jump to x location or peel off to y location if the primary destination had a shit ton of vultures descending upon it. Anyway, that’s not what I want to talk about…
What I actually wanted to talk about was a buddy system of sorts. I really don’t agree with this let’s all split up & loot individual houses/building system unless you are sure no one is nearby. I really think if you are playing as a duo that you should stick close enough together that you can still revive / cover each other, but far apart enough that you make the enemies have to target one of you rather than both being right next to each other like sitting ducks. As for squad mode, if there’s 4 of you then you should pick a buddy & stick with them all the time while looting buildings & traveling around; unless you know for sure there are no other enemies are nearby. If you are a 3 man squad or one of your team mates die, then you should all just stick close-ish together. It seems to be a common occurrence while everyone is spread out doing their own thing with no one to watch their backs that at least 1 squad mate always ends up dead, downed or having to try to high-tail it from a conflict. I believe Jackfrags plays somewhat like I mentioned by having is squad close but slightly spread out & covering different directions – it’s a nice tactic.
Also something I’ve noticed is that whenever we play & are using Discord we all seem to have this strange tendency to chew the fat the entire match & talk over one another (I am also guilty of this), which leads to it being hard to listen out for & pinpoint the direction of footsteps, vehicles, weapon shots & explosions. One thing I’ve found for curbing this is push to talk. I use push to speak when I play FridayNightBattlefield & join the teamspeak. I bought a cheap usb footpedal (they are about €10 on amazon/ebay) which you can program a keybinding for that you can use for push to speak or weapon reloading or whatever you want – very useful. Highly recommend getting one. Anyway, what I’m saying is that when you use push to speak you tend to be chewing the fat less & only talk when you really have to as it requires a little concentration telling your foot or finger to push the pedal/button when you want to say something. I swear half the time I say something people don’t hear me or just choose to ignore me – whatever. Reee!
Final tip for this post, which is in regards to the blue circle. If you check the map you can see where the blue circle lies in comparison to where the white circle is. Take note that if the white circle is not in the center of the blue circle that the blue circle comes in much slower on the side where it is closer to the white circle, which means if you run sort of diagonal to the thinnest point that you should hopefully move slightly faster than the circle or at least prevent the circle from overtaking you as fast which means less health drained by the time you get into the white circle.
Also, just because you have the perfect shot on someone doesn’t mean you should take it. Earlier we was up top of a mountain & another squad flipped their UAV (jeep) over backwards onto its roof while trying to drive up it & all ended up scrambling out of the jeep. If I hadn’t stupidly decide to shoot at them, they wouldn’t have known where we were. As it turned out one of them had a Kar98 with a decent scope so I ended up giving away my position & being headshot about 5 seconds later. That’s me not listening/sticking to the tips & tactics I’ve shared on here. It’s very hard to resist the urge to shoot an easy target though. 🙁

It’s story time again folks…
So, during the losing streak me & Eitan had the other night (I blame the supply crate drops. I will henceforth associate any supply crate drops that drop near or right above us as bad omens), we ended up in what I guess you could call a Mexican Standoff.
There was one guy behind a tree & then there was me & Eitan behind our own trees & none of us were moving, just leaning out & taking random potshots. I actually ended up getting network lag & took me around 2 minutes or so to get back into the game which ended up coming at a shit time as the circle was closing in. I reconnected just as the guy started leaving his tree cover & knocked down Eitan (perfect timing to get back in the game really & really surprised they’d both been standing in same position all that time & that I wasn’t dead), so I side stepped out to the right hand side of the tree I was behind & killed the guy with a single shot from my revolver – somehow.
Anyway… if either of us had better weapons & more ammo (all I had was a revolver with less than 10 bullets & a shotgun) I think I would have deployed a suppression tactic by shooting at & near the tree to keep the enemy busy while Eitan flanked him/her. For some reason we never seem to bother with suppressive fire while playing PUBG as it’s a great method for distracting enemies & preventing them from popping out their heads to look around – works in Battlefield, etc though I suppose it’s a bit harder to pull off when playing on third person PUBG servers as people can use the free look camera system to scan around them, but one of your squad mates could potentially fall back far enough to get out of range to make their way slowly around.
I think we must have been behind those trees for at least 5 minutes or so. Also pretty sure that was the same match we got this…
Then died from the bloody blue circle 2 minutes later. Was a nice supply drop too. 🙁

Right this time, let’s talk about survival. Let’s say you have stupidly decide to engage with the enemy while you were out in the open & all you have for cover is trees, bushes & rocks. Now let’s say that your squad & their squad are now hiding behind things & are both taking random potshots at each other. What can you do in this situation? For some reason the mentality is stay & fight until one of you is wiped out, but I pretty much guarantee that not everyone will be firing suppressed weapons, which means it’s highly likely someone else now has a bead on where you are located, which in turn means that if you stay in the same place fighting for too long, that you are leaving yourself open to being flanked or attacked from behind.
Depending on what’s behind you, you may potentially have a couple of options available for retreating. If you are stuck about halfway up a hill & they are below, it means you can’t simply go prone or crouch run up the hill as they will likely be able to see you as soon as you leave your cover. If you have some smoke grenades, you could pop a couple of those off to make it hard for the enemies to spot you while AD spam up the hill. If you don’t, then you could provide suppression fire at the enemies cover while rest of your squad/partner runs up the hill & once they are in cover, they could do the same for you.
If you are out in the open behind a tree or better yet a large rock & there’s a cornfield, tall grass or the land dips behind you, then you could go prone & crawl backwards or forwards (your choice) while making sure you keep the thing that you were hiding behind in their line of sight, so that you can back up enough to get up & run away or reposition yourself so that you can ambush them for when they inevitably get bored & decide to come & check whether you are still there or have run away screaming like little girls – no offense Janet. 😈
Also here’s some quick tips on key bindings. If like me you didn’t bother checking out all the default key bindings or bother setting each one up to your liking, then you may not know that you can cycle through the in-game voice channels with ctrl+y (none, all, team only), ctrl+t will toggle mute in-game voice chat completely & ctrl+m will toggle mute the game sound.
As they say – or someone said – see you on the battlegrounds! 😉

A’llo it’s a me (again). I’ve got a couple of really quick simple tips for you – sorry, no novella for you all to read this time.
Instead of wasting ammo or trying to melee tires on a vehicle (this works on all jeeps & the buggy – apparently the bike tires are indestructible?) switch to your fists with “X” (or whatever keybind you are using for disarm) & then crouch & punch out the tire. Takes about 5 fast punches or so. Nice & quiet like.
Same thing when it comes to windows in buildings that you are wanting to smash so you can lean out for a better angle or to improve visibility. Switch to fists & hit them. You should be able to hit them first time – unlike with melee weapons which sometimes seem to like missing. Also it’s quieter than using firearms (silenced or not) & you get to conserve ammo.
Quick tip: it’s actually much easier if you switch to first person while punching things as you can tell more easily whether or not you are actually connecting with whatever you are trying to punch rather than flailing your fists around in thin air like a bloody melon.
