Hello again dear audience, this time I am here to give you tips about how to use VC traps efficiently.
First of all, you have nothing to do against U.S. Pointman they auto-detect your traps, but they only inform their teammates with audio, so other U.S. classes will not know of the trap unless they are listening to their teammate’s player model.
For punji trap, they are expected after a door, a broken wall etc. but they shine bright if you place them onto a clear surface if you ask me, so that is not wise either. To get some extra kills with punji traps, play dirty. Place the traps on the vault side of a wall, they’ll never expect to eat some nails into their stomach, or even if they see it underway it’ll be too late most of the times. While placing punji traps into the tunnels, prefer turnsides, or at the opposite site of swelling soil. U.S. is able to see traps most of the times. But on a swelling soil or a turnside of the tunnel, they mostly don’t check the ground, they peek for any campers.
If you were able to get a wire trap, you were lucky enough to find a place in a nice class. For wire traps, I mostly prefer the most unexpected doorways, mostly to stop flankers. Using traps against flankers make you get less kills than normally but it never fails to amaze. NEVER place wiretraps around your teammates, espacially never place them to the middle of objective because an American M79 or a frag grenade can wreck all your plans, and U.S. may get extra kills with your traps exploding around your teammates. You can place them in objective where your teammates don’t camp, but that may not work still.
For Md-82 traps, they don’t kills most of times because they require direct contact, placing them in places such as trenches never fail though. For example in Hue City when defending C, I place 2 or 3 traps into the North side tunnel, and If I have time I place one to the ladder side. These traps either get exploded by an enemy explosive or get kills. And about tunnel, U.S. try to advance fast in tunnel to not die by massive spray, so it mostly gets at least a kill. If I have enough time I also run to the south and place at least one into the southside trenches. That also is effective at stopping flankers.
For fouggasse, it is a hard one to use. I mostly place them in central spots where enemies enter, because they burn for a while stopping enemies from pushing in. I also hide them in foliage such as forest, or grass. For example in CuChi, If I hae fouggase I place them in left flank where enemies push from backyards of houses. It gets kills most of the times. In Hue City C defence I place one below the castle, even though enemies detect it, nobody can come close to disarm it. They either shoot it to explode it or they try to stay away. Even if they explode it, that means they are not coming in for another 20 seconds, so that gains you some time.
I hope you like my guide for mines, have a nice day 🙂
