I have used several times to blow up fortifications when the enemy builds walls around a barn so we can gain entry.
The only problem I find is that you give warnings in local chat but noone listens and still go into the blast radious so i get loads of friendly kills..

Its a big problem that noone listens and this leads to them getting killed..
