I think the biggest mistake I am seeing on other medics that they often hunt for revival count, while they ignore their own killing capability. They just run towards wounded, with morphine in hand, despite under fire. The main weapon should never be forgotten and at least attempt of securing the area should be the main responsiblity, if there is no other infantry support available to do so. Don’t run ahead of the squad, let other guys to take the point – dont endanger yourself needlessly. Dead medics won’t help anybody, especailly if they die first. Also if we would like to save manpower resource, permanently dieing medic could also be burden instead of help for the team. Fortunately, dieing as a medic in HLL takes just 1 of manpower, which is the most least, so no big deal like in game like Post Scriptum.

On the other hand, I see a lot of medics who are too careful and are not helping fallen comrades even if the area is pretty much secured. But these cases are mostly with new players or players who simply don’t pay attention. Trying to reach golden middle between helping and not helping should be always in mind of a medic. Use smoke grenades when possible and needed, but don’t be afraid of refuse to help somebody if the incapacitated player is out of your reach and without any possibility of getting to him safely. In situation like that, I often get revived by some medic “hero”, who is killed right after my revival and I just follow him second later with “ping” sound of my head being blown off.

Medics should be trying to revive currently critical roles first. Trying to help others (for example mere rifleman) while needlessly endangering himself while doing so, is not wise choice, in general. It always depends on specific situation however. If you don’t have garrison/spawnpoint built and team relies on you to make one, try to help officer and Support guy first, for example. But again… even rifleman can be important at times (likely for AT guy) and it always depend of situation. And don’t forget to place downed fellow medics also to the upper part of your revival priorities chart. You just have to use the right judgement and help correct people, with choosing correct order.

Most of medics are doing just half of the job – they revive, but they don’t bandage people. Medic should be the one who attempts to do both at all times. If not for blueberries (players from other squads), then at least for his own squadmates for sure. And he should be doing that the moment he notices it, if situation allows it.

Devs made attempt to make medic role more popular with rewarding revived players with points for waiting on their own revival, but it is still not very popular. Giving up of players in case of incapacitation, should be punished more – few extra support points, about which most people are not even aware is not helping much. Best solution would be if giving up would cause the spawning time to double.

So much for my thoughts about it…
