Why?

I said I was sorry. Isn’t admitting one is wrong and vowing not to do it again a better solution as opposed to leaving an unhappy party? If I am unbanned, if I am not serious when I say I will not cause any further trouble, I will very likely get banned again very quickly, and this time I know there are certain people watching. Besides the one person of Vasilevz, I do not believe anyone else has complained about me.

 

I can liken this situation in several ways to that of a prison sentence. In certain countries, prisoners are subject to brutalising, dehumanising treatment that does not serve to rehabilitate them in any way, but rather make them angrier and even more vicious. However, in other countries, prisons do serve as rehabilitation centres, where criminals are treated fairly and in due time are released, with the expectation they will be productive members of society. You can ban me permanently, but that will not necessarily solve anything. Or, you can give me a second chance knowing I will act better in the future. And if I do not, you can get rid of me again but throw away the keys this time. I think the latter is a much wiser path.
