Battlefield 1 Closed Alpha Netcode Analysis

Aleksander Grondal from DICE, tweeted this: ""It's frankly amazing ATM. Still some way to go, but darn good." Netcode is a blanket term for anything that somehow relates to networking in online games; netcode is a term most commonly used by gamers when discussing synchronization issues between clients and servers. The actual elements of a game engine that can cause so-called "netcode issues" include, among other things, latency, lag compensation or the lack thereof, simulation errors, and network issues between the client and server that are completely out of the game's hands. Netcode as a term tends to be used only…

When To Expect The Battlefield 1 Open Beta

Good news for anyone desperate to get their hands on the Battlefield 1 beta: a new report suggests it’ll probably be kicking off late August/early September.  Sebastian Moritz, Battlefield’s community manager for Germany, revealed the news during an interview with CmdKrieger, in which he said the open beta for the WWI shooter will start ‘shortly after’ Gamescom 2016. Gamescom 2016 runs between August 17-21, so it seems a safe bet that we’ll be enjoying the beta by early September at the latest (especially considering the full game launches in October). EA previously confirmed that the Battlefield 1 beta would begin sometime this summer, so there’s…

Battlefield 1 Alpha Info and review!

Video game publisher Electronic Arts officially explains why the closed alpha test for its World War I shooter Battlefield 1 is going to be “very small.” Be also sure to check this thread from our PBS member Mr Smith who is playing the closed Alpha. According to a post on Electronic Arts’ “Help” section of its website, the company is currently holding a “very small” closed alpha for what many consider to be one of the best games at E3 2016, Battlefield 1, that is only available to a select few players on PC. As a matter of fact, the…

Battlefield 4 is getting a fresh lick of paint

Coming up to three years after its release, DICE continues to tweak and fine-tune Battlefield 4, with an all-new user interface that will make it easier for players to partner up in squads and to find maps and modes. The new UI is coming to Battlefield 4, Battlefield Hardline and Battlefield 1, and it'll allow players to create squads before a game, as well as giving them the ability to switch between Battlefield games - the official blog that makes the announcement says players will be able to jump from a Battlefield 1 map to a Battlefield 4 map with…

BATTLEFIELD 1 MYTHBUSTING

Battlefield 1 Mythbusting - New gameplay from the Scar Map. Testing a few of the new mechanics and quirks of the game Some facts: There will be no commander mode in BF1. There is a possibilty however, that squad leaders will be able to activate certain artillery/canons if they've gained a certain number of points. Mortars will be in the game (mechanics not yet confirmed). There will be a 'War Bonds' unlock which will act as a form of currency. Perhaps to unlock skins. You will be able to change skins on the Behemoth, armored trains and horses (between black/white/brown…
