There are a few more things to mention 🙂
1.Shooting mines no longer works with all weapons. If you have an MP40, forget about it, I think atm only explosive guns trigger mines.
2. American mines are not totally bad, is just that those matches other ground, that being forest dark soil.
3. Sometimes mines are perfectly visible from one side, totally invisible from the other. For example in Carentan, there’s so much debris on the road, like big piles, you can always plant there mines and is impossible to be spotted from the enemy side.
4. Learn maps and places where mines can work with success. Mines have different role than bazooka. Bazooka takes out tanks that made it into fight zones, mines tries mainly to prevent tanks reaching combat area.
5. Mines AT should be played if possible paired with a support and at start sometimes it is a good idea to go with recon squad/s. That way, on certain maps, you can delay or shut down completely eventual flanking.
6. Planting mines right next to tanks when you have no satchel can work. To increase chances to make the tank move it will require some help from any other member that have smoke grenades. Throw smoke in front of the tank and that will most of the time guarantee it will be moved.
7. Learn maps (yes, again). Study roads when you have time, once you find the sweet spots you’ll use those always. While planting a mine at the side of the road in vegetation give you a chance to take down a tank, a mine placed in the middle in a tight spot is guaranteed, as long as you can hide it. Sometimes you can hide mines in plain sight, either by for example dropping an ammo box near it(in front of it as you see it from enemy angle), either making the ultimate sacrifice, once you hear the tank coming get killed on it and don’t release. Sometimes it will work, sometimes it won’t 🙂
