Correct, you cannot spawn onto the tank. If you join mid-game or if the tank is already mobile, you’ll have to coordinate with your tank crew on where to pick you up. Just ask – usually they will divert to a garrison to come pick you up.

Aside from the automatic spawns of tanks, the commander has the ability to place a tank at either of the 3 HQs; dependent on fuel resources. Most of the time, you won’t be running around with pistols – if ever.
