Engineer is a tough role for sure because you have a lot of different responsibilities. And these responsibilities vary depending on the state of the match.

      1. Build nodes (always a.s.a.p)
      2. Build defenses (including repair stations!)
      3. Support / repair armor
      4. Take out enemy nodes (satchel)
      5. Blow up buildings or strong points (satchel)

It’s always good to steal a supply truck and get some nodes up a.s.a.p. Then drive the remaining supplies somewhere where more nodes or a garrison can be build. Maybe take your SL with you as well. (If there’s enough of that going on, drive them to a point for defenses).

Depending on the needs of the team, sometimes it’s a good thing to build for example a manpower node on the point. So that supports half their supply reloading time.

Sometimes it’s wise to build defenses (if you’ve capped the middle point) but this is very situational. Don’t start building if there’s 2 squads assaulting the point. Barbed wire can quickly close off entire sections of a point and they cost only 10 supplies. Use those first. Always communicate if you have supplies near you if you can use them for that purpose, don’t just start building if there’s no garrison on the point.

Build repair stations where armor can easily reach them but keep them out of line-of-sight of enemy tanks / anti tank.

If enemies are holed up in some building, communicate you’re about to blow it sky high and a well placed satchel can change the entire assault. Be very vocal about this, you don’t want to blow up your entire offensive squad.

Also always place your mines. Anti tank mines on intersections, anti personal everywhere you can. (Trenches, allyways and building entrances)

Here’s a quick list of building costs:

      barbed wire – 10 supplies
      barricade – 25 supplies
      belgian gate – 30 supplies
      fuel node – 50 supplies
      manpower node – 50 supplies
      munitions node – 50 supplies
      bunker – 75 supplies
      repair station – 100 supplies

Can you steal enemy supply trucks or you mean the one from your friendly spawn?

You can’t drop supplies from stolen enemy trucks. I believe he simply meant snatching one from spawn at the start of the game to get the nodes built asap 😉
