There’s something the author didn’t say: his flanking would have been totally unsuccessful if the defense wasn’t engaged by the front armour wasn’t heavily engaged.

This is something the SpecOps squad is very well aware of in our clan: we know we must exploit what the marauder’s squads are offering us, a weak side. Every flanking action is the result of another coordinate front assault action which takes the most casualties.

So, my comment to the author is: yeah, if everybody on the field acts as you suggest the one capturing is not your team, but the opponent one.
