Dull. I think I watched that video ages back. My tactics involve constantly staying on the move. Run, gun, get into whatever shitty basic cover you can seeing as there’s no proper cover system in this game, reload & then repeat from the beginning again.

This game is a lot less tactical than the Battlefield games that came after it due to the wonky sprinting system, the lack of being able to lean/auto-lean, cover shoot or go prone. It has a more arcade feel to it which seems to work best when you keep on the move (as long as you aren’t the medic because the LMG’s are utter shit to fire while moving).

I highly recommend jumping on one of the modded servers to level up quickly rather than grind through the levels if you are new to the game as this game is very unfair to low level players as all of us that have put a lot of hours into it have better weapons & various perks that allow us to move better or provide us with higher damage resistance or the ability to deal out more damage per bullet, which means we can kill all of the lower level players with ease as we are veteran hardened bastards with perks. I think you need to be around level 15 or 16 to unlock magnum perk. Once you unlocked that & the LW kit perk, you should be good to go.

Few other tips… the enemy spotting in this game is ridiculous. If one of your team mates spots an enemy & you can’t visibly see them, try shooting a little below the marker you can see on your screen & you might find you can hit them anyway as they could just be on the other side of a wooden/thin metal fence or obscured by some bushes or trees. Bullets do penetrate through some things in this game.

Also keep an eye on shadows. On the Isla Inocentes map for example, there’s this bit where you can go up some stairs & there’s a fence around the top platform & a wooden hut near the top of the stairs. As you are going up you can look under the fence from a certain point. You can also look under the wooden hut thing too or see if you can spot a persons shadow. You can use that information & shoot through the fence/hut to kill the enemy. This point applies to various different locations on various different maps.

Quick note: the sounds in this game are somewhat broken. A lot of the time you can’t hear when someone is sneaking up behind you. Snipers especially are very vulnerable. If you come across a wookie looking through a scope then chances are you can run right up to it & jump about, on it, crouch right in front & under it without it even knowing you are there. If that happens to be the case… knife it in the back & then teabag it just to affirm your dominance over the bush wookie kingdom.

Also the 40mm grenades seem to be ninjas. I never ever hear when one is launched at me, lands near me or anything. I just get the died screen with killed by 40mm grenade. I hate those things almost as much as I hate the damn bush wookie snipers that find a vantage spot overlooking one of their enemies spawn points for easy kills.
